BREAKING: Burnham to cut VAT from energy bills from October 1. The move is expected to take around £45 off the yearly Ofgem price cap. Will cost £850m & will be funded through the cancelled digital ID scheme.
Burnham: “I said I wanted to give people breathing space, and that’s what I’m announcing on my second day as Prime Minister.
“We’re taking immediate action to cut taxes on energy bills, put more money in people’s pockets and bring back hope.”

Truly heartbroken to post this on behalf of the Keegan family... It is with immense sadness that we announce that Kevin Keegan has passed away at the age of 75. The former England player and manager had been battling cancer and was surrounded by his wife and daughters in his final moments. Kevin, a double Ballon D’or winner, was a much loved husband, father and grandfather. The family would like to thank Kevin’s incredible medical team for all their support. This is a hugely difficult time and they are requesting space and privacy.

@_DIGB It’s all about the contract length. The transfer fee is brought into their accounts over the number of years. So assuming he gets these massive 8 year contract, the cost for FFP is only £14.6m per year. That’s how they get around it. Shite system but all the big teams do it.

Have to agree with @TheLawyerCSmith here. The amount of times I’ve had to agree to expedited hearings, sometimes even at the expense of me not being able to attend to represent my client, because we are told these type of financial cases in sport must be concluded swiftly on the interest of integrity- and then we have this inordinate delay in the biggest case.

So basically we are shopping for players in the £40/£50 million bracket with £150 grand a week wages, top six shopping in £120 million with £250 plus grand a week. We have absolutely zero chance of breaking in. Game over with these new rules.

Mind it’s mental really when you think about it Villa finished in the top 5 won a European trophy & qualified for the champions league but have to sell there best player to Chelsea who finished 10th last season

What annoys me is that we are constantly told to "increase revenues" to close the gap, only way of doing that is by buying better players but then they just take them off you for £100m, but you're not allowed to buy £100m players yourself/offer those wages, because of "revenue"

Ever feel like you're watching a different sport?
Morgan Rogers is a decent player but £117m?! I can't get my head around that.
And upwardly mobile, brilliantly managed #avfc forced to sell him because of arbitrary UEFA financial rules that favour the chaos of #cfc, who have had several strategies, failed managers and finished 13 points and 6 places lower than them.
How is anyone supposed to compete long-term when this is going on? The game at this level is broken

@BSRobsonNE Are Chelsea not heavily restricted by UEFA as they did not accept any of there infastructure sales such as Hotels, Womens team etc. It certianly doesn't seem like they are!
