It's pretty obvious in hindsight that the established sports betting complex wouldn't go down without a fight Klashi and Polymarket feel toppy near term at $20bn but prediction markets as a category (infra, tooling, localized platforms, etc) have a lot more room to grow
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

Exclusive: A pair of senators are introducing a law that would prohibit CFTC-regulated entities like Kalshi and Polymarket from listing contracts related to sporting events on.wsj.com/4brWUzV

War time CEO arc has begun. Here's what the next few weeks look like for @pumpcade: 1. First engineer onboards this week. Second engineer onboards end of next week (most likely) 2. Engineers focuses are on infrastructure and scaling right off the bat, as well as implementation of below point. 3. Beginning work soon with a design studio. A ground up re-imagination of the Pumpcade platform. I built the entire UX alone, and i'm FAR from a UX designer. This studio will help us design Pumpcade into the most fun place on the internet to make (or lose) money. Pumpcade is a prediction market platform, but has an offering unlike anyone else. We want to heavily lean into this and have the app reflect what we offer. 4. Open Beta. When we're at a stable place for the app, we're going to remove the need for access codes. Beta for all. 5. Protocol audit. There are a few improvements and features that i'm planning for the Pumpcade protocol. Once these are made, we'll kick off the security audit. 6. GTM and partnerships. Pumpcade will not be a simple "hey we are live tweet". That's all I will say. 7. Other announcements that I unfortunately can't share. Sorry for the "announcement of an announcement". My team and I intend on moving at the speed of light. I shipped fast alone, so try and imagine what it's going to look like with 2 more of me on the team. Pumpcade.

The first incoming @pumpcade engineering hire quit his job today to go full time with me. It’s time to accelerate. I shipped like crazy alone. With a few more engineers and a full engineering team Pumpcade is unstoppable.

People are going to make a lot of money using pumocade which is a key component in a crypto app going viral. It’s going to capture a lot of trencher mind share. Think it replaces buying bundled fnf memes daily. Most crypto people don’t overly care about prediction markets because it’s too slow. Who cares about trying to win a bet in the next 30 days. I’m tryna make money today. If you combine trenching with prediction markets you get pumpcade. Powerful stuff.

Pumpcade has been in a closed beta for awhile now. Since most of you are unemployed and don’t understand product life cycles or anything related to the business world tbh, I’m going to explain the path forward. 1) closed beta 2) public beta 3) GA 4) ????? 5) profit

I never buy what accounts over 100k followers shill. The reason is that 95% of those accounts only talent is trading on their social credit. They are virtually never right on a long time frame on a shill. They have no concept what a good meme or product is. anyways pumpcade.

Think about everything that has come out in crypto the last 2-3 years. A bunch of blockchains no one uses. 114 failed socialfi experiments. Then pump fun which was notable and changed the game. A bunch of fake AI coins. A bunch of ICM bullsht. And a bunch of trading bots which are all the exact same at a high level and are targeted towards a market that is dead and never coming back, the trenches. Pumpcade is the kind of app that is a) fun b) fast paced c)innovative and cutting edge d) reminds you of all the reasons crypto captivated you in the first place. I’ve held pumpcade for 6 months. If you don’t think I have a list with 569 bullet points as to why, you don’t know me very well.
PUMPCADE@pumpcade

Anything with a verifiable data source can have a market on Pumpcade. When the timer ticks down to zero, you immediately know if you won or lost, and can claim your winnings. Gone are the days of waiting for lengthy resolutions and disputes. Pumpcade makes everything faster.

.@pumpcade has won the @pumpfun hackathon. I launched Pumpcade on Pump Fun last year. Shortly after, I quit my dream job to go full time on it. It was quite an unconventional way to start as a business, but it turned out to be the best decision I could have made. From day 1, Pumpcade has had an incredibly strong community that has supported the project day in and day out. For the last 4 months the goal has remained the same. Build a new way to speculate, and build it in public. Through countless screenshots, demo videos, and dev logs, I documented the process of solo building a product from zero -> working beta. As part of winning the hackathon, Pump Fun is investing $250,000 into Pumpcade. Along with their investment, Pumpcade now has access to some of the strongest advisors, builders, and distribution channels in the industry. The vision of Pumpcade is to revolutionize the prediction market space. Pumpcade is shrinking the durations, redesigning the market mechanics, and most importantly, allowing you to speculate on anything with a verifiable data source. It's time to accelerate. It's time to speculate on everything, everywhere. It's time to pump your cade.

A few months ago I bought contracts that would be Khamenei out of office by April 1st. This morning, Kalshi changed the rules to exclude death as a possible outcome. lol, lesson learned - have withdrawn everything from Kalshi and will never use them again.
Tarek Mansour@mansourtarek_

On Khamenei: We don’t list markets directly tied to death. When there are markets where potential outcomes involve death, we design the rules to prevent people from profiting from death. That is what we did here. I know some of you disagree and prefer that we list these markets without a death carveout because it keeps the rules simple and because many traditional markets, like oil futures, can be proxy markets for war and death. But we believe that’s different than having a market directly settling on someone’s death, which is not allowed for US regulated entities. What’s the point of the market, then? A market on Ali Khamenei out as Supreme Leader was important because leadership changes in Iran have major impact on the world order: • geopolitical implications • economic consequences • national security considerations • oil and commodity prices, many of which move based on news and expectations around this outcome And it’s always possible for a ruler to step down or transition power without death, even in autocracies. It just happened in Venezuela. In these instances, we make the caveat clear in the rules and in the market page, but today is a good learning that we can do more in terms of improving the UX and adding more ways to surface the rules. We are committed to improving. In the meantime, here’s what we’re going to do: • We are reimbursing all fees from this market • If you have a position from before Khamenei died, you will be paid out on the last-traded price before his death. (This was clear in our rules) • If you have a position from after he died, we’re going to fully reimburse your cost of entry

Gotta be extremely meticulous with what you let into your life this year Everyone has access to everything now, the moat of creation is gone thanks to llms. Anyone can write essays now and larp as being smart. The signal to noise has never been worse. Your feed has now morphed from something once benign to a hostile environment. Feeding on your attention like a hive of termites in an abandoned cabin Big part of managing attention isn’t just about knowing what to focus on, but also understanding what to systematically exclude. You have finite cognitive resources. Use them wisely Delete contacts you don't speak to anymore. Unsubscribe from marketing noise. Kill dormant apps and accounts. Stop consuming news designed to keep you afraid and compliant We are in the midst of a hidden war. And our adversaries will stop at nothing to gain dominion over your attention and thoughts
