@LogiDude @BocasBrain Agreed. They move fast. This is in anticipation for all of their data center launches to sun-synchronous orbit. This will eventually be where most of their launches are from.

@BocasBrain Orbiting data centers need to have sunlight all the time, and a sun-synchronous orbit can do it (or nearly do it). This is around a 98 degree inclination. Starbase and Cape Canaveral are not suitable. Vandenburg is suitable but may not be enough. This site is perfect.

@a_meta4 @teslayoda There will always be demand for families with children that require car seats or booster seats. However, I agree that the market for ownership will dramatically shrink to perhaps 1/4th of what it is today.

@teslayoda Strongly agree. Also HW3 sandbag is clear the more I think about it.. he wants HW3 owners to upgrade.. before robotaxi kills car sales.

Elon is sandbagging. Tesla is on the verge of launching the world’s first physical AI product at scale. The real-world AI version of the “ChatGPT moment” is coming— it’s called FSD Unsupervised.

@a_meta4 @wholemars From Elon's comments during the earnings call, I surmise they will upgrade every AI3 vehicle they come across to AI4, if for nothing else than to add it to the RoboTaxi fleet. The incremental costs will pay for itself.

@wholemars Or is it more expensive to have dedicated customers hold onto HW3 vs use a discount and buy a new car ;)

@yingzhangphoto Looks like they have 3d printed parts, cast parts, stamped parts, and CNC machined parts all welded together. I like that they aren't married to any single process and will choose whatever method will get them what they need balanced against cost, throughput, and reliability.

The moon is tidally locked to the earth. I think the easiest way to think of it is this: The mass of the moon is not uniformly distributed. Think of weighted dice. When rolled, it will land with its weighted side down. In space, to the moon, down is towards the Earth. The moon did have spin when it was formed, but the pull of the Earth brought it into alignment over a relatively short 1000 years. youtube.com/watch?v=6jUpX7… grokipedia.com/page/Tidal_loc…

@vyaspnk @SawyerMerritt @Tesla You can see their total sales from all vehicles including ICE and hybrid. GM is down 9.7% YoY for Q1. I don't think this is about bashing GM, but putting Tesla's (modest) gains for Q1 in perspective.

@SawyerMerritt Comparing to EVs again? @Tesla always wanted us to compare Tesla car sales, accolades or advancements with not just EVs but all cars. Now we are going back to comparing with EVs? If @Tesla did a normal truck like R2 I would not be having this conversation.

@mo0Nl1t___ It is worse in the book. Grace has to carry him and burns his whole arm very badly in the process. He has to take pain killers afterwards which leads to some funny conversations about humans being stupid when without sleep and on pain killers.

🚨🚨 $AMZN Amazon - FCC Docket SAT-MOD-20211207-00186 SpaceX, through David Goldman, alleges that Amazon is violating its approved orbital debris mitigation plan and license conditions. Amazon is accused of dispensing satellites at higher altitudes (50-90 km) than authorized, without adequate coordination or information sharing. SpaceX claims this negligence increases collision risk and that Amazon and Arianespace can adjust launch plans to comply with authorization. The letter asserts Amazon represented its satellites would be inserted near 400 km but launched into orbits above 450 km without approval. SpaceX states Amazon's actions altered the collision risk profile and imposed risk on other operators, and asks Amazon to comply with its authorization to prevent irreparable harm. 🔗 fccalerts.com/api/pdf/9f132d…

@combatmedic @EruseaRise "That test wouldn't qualify as an experiment in Japan..." That just proves that we are correct: Japan is a nation of people that have high standards and adhere to them, even when no one is looking. More than that, your people relentlessly pursue perfection in all that you do.

@pixie10ole @TiffanyxFong It is tough before it is cooked. Brisket is a cheap, tough cut of meat, but after is is slow cooked, the collagen converts to gelatin and the fat renders; it becomes tender and delicious.
