Même les négociateurs de produits dérivés financiers dans les banques de Johannesburg dont beaucoup parlent l'afrikaans, sont aussi, d'une certaine manière, des « fermiers blancs ». En revanche, Le Monde a raison: tuer quelqu'un ou le torturer à mort ne signifie pas nécessairement que cette personne soit « persécutée ». Le "look afrikaner": chaussures en daim bleu marine style "veldskoen", pantalon en coton kaki, chemise 100% lin en bleu marine également (contre la chaleur) avec chapeau en feutre de poil lapin sauvage (contre le solei qui brûle 300 jours par an). Pour une réunion d'affaires on peut ajouter une veste en lin aussi, sans doublure (contre la chaleur, bien que les bureaux soient climatisés). Pratique et décontracté.

Afrikaners are rats in an English laboratory. They are forever subjecting us to social engineering, new pressures, new bans on our language, our schools, our universities, our customs, flags, vocabulary, etc. Here's another injection, some more radiation, obstacles to climb. These are the "moral, global people" who gave us Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell. Just this morning another Englishman wrote in a mainstream publication that Afrikaners should not be allowed to have Afrikaans schools, that we should take in Xhosas and Zulus, make it "multilingual", mixed it all up in their "melting pot" which has worked so well in America and elsewhere, not so? But in South Africa "multilingual" is a synonym for English. When our universities were taken over, all the Afrikaners fired and excluded, they became "multilingual" which meant that only English was allowed. That there are a few hundred Afrikaans schools extant is a "global" scandal to them. "How dare you teach your children in their mother tongue?" they shriek. "It should not be allowed! We will send you all to prison. Or back to the British concentration camps where you could all die and the world would be a better place!" A French historian once called us "les maudits". The cursed. The Empire hates us and has not quite succeeded in wiping us out, to its chagrin.
