@clix81ne @banteg Ser, this is Ethereum we are talking about, not Solana that requires you to host half a datacenter You can run your ETH validators on a small box like @dappnode which is essentially plug and play

with a little bit of encouragement from twitter, migrated my solo validators to a local server. i measured the network usage and it's pretty much constant at 15mbit/s both up/down. this is about 6tb/month so check if your isp has a traffic cap if you consider home staking. you also need at least 4tb fast nvme, 64gb ram, fast cpu (16 threads, 3.5k/25k single/multi-threaded passmark), and stable network (50mbit down, 25mbit up). as i said, not having datacenter-quality network is probably the most common disqualifying factor.

June 17, 2016: TheDAO was hacked. Over the next months we hacked TheDAO several times in a variety of ways & rescued all the ETH. Every one affected was able to claim their $ETH back and got bonus $ETC from the Hard Fork💰 It's the only hack recovery I know of where everyone made money... even the hacker! 🤷‍♂️ 10 years later, TheDAO has a new mission & has about the same amount of money as it raised in the first place! Only in crypto.
