@evanshortiss Nice progress! I'm after getting back on it myself and it's been really nice with the improving weather. My long term goal is to be able to run 5k in 25 minutes or less but it's gonna take a while to get there 😅

@evanshortiss I think typescript is doing a good job here in telling you the intention of the code is kinda unclear tbh 😅 Why not the following. if a return type(a), else if b return type(b) else throw error. A lot simpler to grasp i think haha

@darahayess I think this would be ideal if there were two different types and I needed to determine which I was working with. In my case a and b were the same type, but could both be undefined. Ideally I want a, but can use b as a fallback if necessary, but both could be undefined!

Shouldn't the compiler realise one of a or b is defined? #typescript

@poledesfetes @matteocollina @bengl Not Italian but I love making carbonara. The trick is to turn the heat off a bit before the pasta is done. Imediately transfer the cooked pasta to the pan and add the sauce. The warm pasta + pan will do the job. Reserve some pasta water just in case the sauce is too stiff!

@matteocollina @bengl Wow, much pressure, guanciale dices in a pan until they turn transparent Egg yolk in a bowl mixed with cheese and pepper get the pasta with everyrithin and some pasta water. Where I have a hard time is to get a pan not too hot so the egg does not cook

@conzy_m That sucks! I had a similar one a few years ago I moved into a house with a converted attic. One day I went out leaving the velux window open without realising my monitor was on the floor right underneath it. It rained in on top of it all day 😅

@TippBeerGuy Yeah I get ya. I was coming from a different place. For the first few months of lockdown, I became so sedentary and my diet was so poor. I realised this is gonna be my life for the the next year at least so I need to do something sustainable!

@darahayess I struggled with the motivation. I was all about getting physically and mentally strong over the "3-4" months I expected to be WFH, when that target blew by, my motivation went with it.

So unfair. In June I was running 15k every 2 days. WFH took a bit of a toll on the mental health, went for my first run in a month and barely could complete a 5k. I did it tho, so that’s something

@LarryBradyBunch @Rubberbandits Privacy is a genuine concern but the article is conflating one thing with another: ✅ Android phones in general send lots of data to google ❌ the covid app cannot access or send this data to the government/HSE The article is written by someone who doesn't understand technology.

@LarryBradyBunch @Rubberbandits Of course it would be nice if Google would 'fix' it but they won't because it isn't broken. It's doing exactly what they intend it to do. I honestly don't like these practices myself but it has absolutely nothing to do with the government or the Covid app.

Download the Covid tracker in Ireland and keep your phone software updated please. A second wave will come, and this app will help manage it. We all have data concerns. The same as with any app. But This will save lives
