@mattvanswol @BasedMikeLee Well we didn’t homeschool but I likely would in today’s environment (my kids are college grads). If I can help in anyway via Zoom I will!! I would be more than happy to skills teacher. My husband could teach money and finance. Never too early to learn to budget!

My wife and I are deep in the weeds on researching how to homeschool our 5 year old son.
It’s very daunting…, not sure how we are gonna pull it off but honestly… we have almost no choice.
I love MANY of my public school teachers, but the system is designed for indoctrination and turning your kid into a raging liberal.
Not actually teaching them any facts at all.
It’s so sad. Truly.
So in the end, what else can we do?
Private school maybe?
But it’s expensive, and has MANY of the same problems, in fact… it’s often worse.
So homeschool really is the only option left.
I just don’t want to screw this up…
I love my son, I want his life to be the best it can be, maybe that’s homeschooling, at least for now.

@AndToddsaid My daughter takes apart a$5 Costco rotisserie chicken, roasts some veggies and that’s her meal preps for the week. A hot lunch every day for next to nothing in cost. Rest goes to her 401k savings and s&p index funds. When she if 60 she won’t remember what she ate for lunch

I suppose I'll be accused of being a leftist for saying this, but working professionals shouldn’t have to brown‑bag it to succeed in a modern society. I don't mean that in the “everyone deserves a pony” sense. I mean it in the “my car doesn’t sound right” sense.

Packing cheaper lunches is a great idea. But you’re not going to be able to eat enough baloney sandwiches to cover the cost of a $350k starter home on average.
That’s before you even get into college debt and lack of job opportunities.

@AmericaPapaBear It is the hardest thing ever but reaps great rewards. My kids are adults, done with college, all have jobs and we seriously have so much fun when we all get together. Trying times when they were little…

@ii_analyze 3 of us for dinner tonight. Pork tenderloin for $10 and added rice and roasted carrots on the side. Delish and pork leftovers for lunch tomorrow (well for one of us). My youngest daughter meal preps her lunches each week and saves a fortune!
