When I hear the term "extravehicular activity" I think of those motorcycles with sidecars. It's a vehicle with a little extra.

The majority are so naive they feed LLMs their personal finance data, medical data, interests & queries, oblivious to implications. It's the same people who voluntarily provided location & imagery data via Pokemon. Deidentifying the data you upload does not negate correlation.

.@grok just saved my sister $1,441 on her taxes. I had it check the turbotax output and it found a mistake. Seriously - 4.20 is very good with taxes.

@wolfstrength I trained astronauts to perform spacewalks (Extravehicular Activity, or EVA) for 18 years of Space Shuttle and Space Station missions, including most of station assembly. I wrote EVA procedures and supported them from MCC. And as a perk I got to get into the spacesuit (on Earth).

Fun thought experiment: imagine you’re an astronaut living in Zero G space, or Elon successfully colonizes Mars and you’re living in a very low gravity environment where everything is light and easy to carry. Name a basic common activity for which you still need to be strong.

@Astro_Clay I mean, for Artemis EVA how would you prefer CapComm/IV to provide you with timeline updates? Surface exploration EVA, across a much less well known path as ISS handrails, with tasks less defined than hardware swaps more geared toward "go find cool rocks", warrants some support.

@Astro_Clay Good perspective. What's your recommendation for surface exploration EVA?

One phrase I did not like hearing during a spacewalk was '… you're ahead of the timeline.' Having it repeated over and over by the mission control team (via the CAPCOM) generated, for me anyway, unnecessary pressure and a shift in the focus. Spacewalking is incredibly dangerous and requires constant focus on the task at hand. Emphasizing the fact that you are working well and staying ahead of a planned-on-Earth timeline, instead of simply focusing on completing the task at hand safely, seemed unnecessary to me. And what if you were “behind on the timeline?” Do you want us to speed up, perhaps risking a mistake, to be “back on that timeline?” I don’t think so, but that’s just me.

Ok, who is in for a wild flight with @united? 🙋🏽‍♂️ well, buckle up and sit back, we’re going for the long haul. So, I’m flying from Houston to Munich, and because I know my airlines I went for a very long (6hr) stopover, then on to my final destination. I thought there was no way I’d miss my connection, right? (Spoiler: I was wrong). 1/
