@darinsims I have always loved this one. I don’t like the ones with robots and laser’s keep that for other settings leave my ad&d to the fantasy not sci fi.
English

@NemoDtwenty I have no experience with ToEE. Never ran or played it but I love the Village of Hommlet.
English

@darinsims I dont find ToEE to be interesting. Sorry, not really sorry all.
English

@Blackmoor_Film Also... where might I purchase The Lost Dungeons of Tonisburg?

My goal is to promote Classic D&D play methods.
It isn't about better or worse - you can play how and what you want.
I do feel Classic play is dying out and the ideas need to be both preserved and shared to new gamers.
When we wrote The lost Dungeons of Tonisborg, Dan and I were keenly aware of the need for a book full of DM tips and tricks.
The older DMs will see it and nod their head because they already do the kinds of things presented in Tonisborg, yet the new generation may not be aware of these ideas.
The ideas have nothing to do with the rules, it is the entire approach to creating an immersive experience for the players that has risks, consequences and rewards.

@JohnFort68 @DrElliotVernon Ive run multiple 5e campaigns. It just isn't fun.
My experience is that newer players tend to want to play at playing D&D.
English

@darinsims @DrElliotVernon I mostly run AD&D 2nd edition or BECMI D&D, though I did run 5e as well for a couple of years (the OGL crap led to us moving on from that). It's very difficult to get younger players to try older versions of the game, and even more difficult to get older gamers to try the new.
English

@JohnFort68 @DrElliotVernon I don't play the current iteration of D&D because I find it boring & monotonous.
English

@darinsims @DrElliotVernon Personally, I think the game may have (to a large extent) died out if it hadn't continued to evolve over time. As much as I enjoyed the early modules, and still do, I don't think that style was sustainable forever. Eventually they'd have grown monotonous.

@jcmeyer119 Names may be up to the DM. The plot/the story... these are in the hands of the players.
English

@darinsims B2 has no plot, no story, and nothing is named; it leaves it up to the DM to do with it whatever they want.

My highest level AD&D character, Adam the Holy, level 11 Human Cleric, died in the Tomb of Horrors.
Andy@darinsims
S1 Tomb of Horrors Some love it. Some hate it. Its iconic. Its peak D&D. Its Dungeon as BBEG manifest.
English

@nandtpolitics @bluedaypop Its a percentage of people who took the survey
English

@bluedaypop Even if you include all trans as female, even then it is doubtful it is above 20%. The only way those could be accurate is if the "player" count has dropped dramatically to under 500k.

@darinsims I found this the first module I didn’t think was genuine AD&D it felt like a different mythos
