@juiceboy_of_abj Simple; the default browser even in older versions of windows, can be reinstalled using add/remove programs or the app store. If you're running linux, use cUrl and/or Lynx from the command line.

So if you buy a new laptop and mistakenly uninstall the browser that comes with it, how would you download the browser back since you don’t have a browser to install the browser?🤔🤔

@MensHumor This guy seems like a jerk, but this also happens when you DON'T request contact-free delivery. They just leave your food outside in the snow, and you eventually find it after opening your door to see if they might be in the vicinity. I haven't used a delivery app in years.

I know this is bait, but its profoundly lazy of the the buyer. If you ordered something you know you ordered it; you know approximately when it will arrive. You should be waiting for it, you will know exactly when it got there, and can get it asap. If you leave it out there, thats on you.

@OccupyDemocrats France has never won a war. It's on record. I think he needs to talk less. And show more respect to the President of the United States. Crudely put, the US is NATO. There's no NATO without the US.

BREAKING: French General Michel Yakovleff HUMILIATES Trump for begging Europe to get involved in his Iran War, says that it would be like "buying cheap tickets for the Titanic" after it hit the iceberg. This is beyond brutal... "We have five reasons to say no to him, in fact," said Yakovleff. "So, the first one is that he didn't understand that if he wants to carry out a NATO operation, NATO has to take command. So, there will be an American general, but it's a single operation." “You can’t have an American operation where they’re bombing whatever they can and then below that, the Europeans doing something else,” Yakovleff said. “No, no, no, it has to be one sole operation, under a NATO flag. I don’t think he understood that.” Yakovleff served as a three general in the French Army, was commander of the French Foreign Legion, and served in top positions in NATO. He's a highly respected military expert in France and regularly weighs in on issues of international importance. Trump has been pleading with allied nations to get involved in his Iran fiasco. Iranian missiles and drones have made it impossible for oil tankers to obtain insurance to traverse the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world's petroleum normally passes. Oil prices are skyrocketing. So far, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the European Union have refused Trump's request. General Yakovleff went on to point out that Trump's strategic goals, beyond forcing open the strait, are vague and undefined. If NATO nations were even going to consider involvement, they would need the United States to explain explicitly in writing what the goals are. "And it's not tweets, and it's not things that change every two minutes. So, already there, it's going to be necessary for Trump himself to know what he wants," said the general. He said that there's also the issue of the lack of "confidence" in Trump. It's well-known that he regularly abandons his allies and he could do so here immediately after other nations got involved. “He would let us down whenever it suited him," said Yakovleff. He ended his tirade by comparing Trump to the captain of the Titanic trying to "sell cheap tickets" for his voyage "after having hit the iceberg." “And the last argument is American: you don’t reinforce failure. I learnt that at the U.S. Army War College. You don’t reinforce failure, you move on, you find something else.” he added. "So, there are a lot of reasons to say no." Please ❤️ and share if you think that the Iran War is a total disaster!

@dev_maims Need to see more of the form to understand what they are asking for, and whether this is truly ridiculous. Sometimes internships are not truly entry level in the traditional sense, but something done by post-docs or as a stepping stone to an advanced role.

Certainly, the Western Christians had their own agenda, and it wasn't quite what the Byzantine Emperor intended (he apparently was requesting mercenaries like the Varangian Guard to bolster his ranks and help retake territory in Anatolia), but at least for the 1st Crusade they were invited.

Amazon is holding a mandatory meeting about AI breaking its systems. The official framing is "part of normal business." The briefing note describes a trend of incidents with "high blast radius" caused by "Gen-AI assisted changes" for which "best practices and safeguards are not yet fully established." Translation to human language: we gave AI to engineers and things keep breaking? The response for now? Junior and mid-level engineers can no longer push AI-assisted code without a senior signing off. AWS spent 13 hours recovering after its own AI coding tool, asked to make some changes, decided instead to delete and recreate the environment (the software equivalent of fixing a leaky tap by knocking down the wall). Amazon called that an "extremely limited event" (the affected tool served customers in mainland China).

@TheAnkurTyagi How about this: treat the AI like any other dev on the team. Assign a story card worth of work to the AI, have a human review it, and then integrate it. Human engineers still control the architecture, and the AI code is integrated in small enough bites that you can manage it.

That's not exactly accurate, as the actual reason was to protect Constantinople and the pilgrimage routes to Jerusalem from Muslims, and consequently to retake Christian control over the Levant. Medieval warfare, though, was quite bloody, and the Crusaders didn't give much quarter. But, no, it was not about forcefully spreading Christianity, but about opposing the forceful spreading of Islam.

@wanchu2733 @r0ktech C and C++ are actually sort-of the same language; valid C is also valid C++ (but not the other way around). Java and JavaScript have cosmetically similar syntax, but are totally different under the hood.

This bill was introduced 3 years ago by a very extreme ultraorthodox party, and was unsurprisingly DOA, but propaganda outlets and fundraising outfits will happily report about it to stoke engagement and cash out of the gullible. A US parallel for perspective: every Congressional term, typically at the start, a Democratic congressman will introduce an Assault Weapons Ban bill, which will get a few co-sponsors, get sent to committee, and die there, only to be re-introduced in the next term. These bills are going nowhere, and have nearly 0 chance of passing, yet that never stopped the NRA or the GOA from sending out urgent newsletters and emails to members, asking for money to stop the bill.

ISRAEL WANTS TO MAKE CHRISTIANITY A CRIME! A note to the Religious Right, this is who you are supporting. A bill has been submitted that would prohibit publishing or distributing content that "supports Jesus" on the internet, in the media, or via email. Your thoughts?

I looked it up and it was pretty much what I expected; Newsmax being disingenuous...so, Israel is a parliamentary democracy, where there are many parties with very narrow interests; they have to form a coalition to create a government, but many views, even very extreme, are represented in the legislature. This bill was introduced 3 years ago by a very extreme ultraorthodox party, and was unsurprisingly DOA, but propaganda outlets and fundraising outfits will happily report about it to stoke engagement. U.S. Air Force officer adopted baby girl 53 years ago—now ICE wants to deport her to Iran. Being a Christian & daughter of U.S. military—sending her to Iran is a near certain death sentence. Her birth certificate names both legally adopted U.S. citizen parents—she has Real ID & social security card. Congress passed a law in 2000 to grant citizenship to people who were legally adopted from overseas—but it did not apply retroactively. "It just, to me, it's a broken promise to return somebody that two governments made an agreement to give an orphan a home," she said. "And I feel stateless. Iran was not my home. I left when I was 3 years old." The woman is awaiting her next court hearing later this month—where she will most likely be detained & deported. #DemsUnited
