From some of the feedback we've already received, we will:
- add a final welcome screen that instructs users to choose Tor/no-Tor for initial fetch, which will then fetch. This solves the problem of some users not knowing an initial fetch (swipe down) is required to populate all prices.
- add an opt-in widget that will show an asset's price (like bitcoin).
- continue to work on the Android version for reproducible builds.

It’s true.
darkfolio is a mobile app optimized for keeping tabs on present values, and up to 1 year of price history. It can’t do what rotki does because it would break our privacy model.
Rotki, not mobile, is great for tax reporting and tracking transaction histories.
Different designs for different purposes. And I think that’s the way it should be.

No other tool offers an explorer of your entire history like @rotkiapp. Want to filter for gnosis transactions at 06&07 2024 that touch @gnosispay? Sure. Here you go. All that without making any external queries and while keeping all your data encrypted locally in your system.

What do I mean about a self-consistent plausible deniability system?
First, plausible deniability - even someone who knows that darkfolio has the ability to generate a decoy space full of portoflios/watchlists, won't be able to tell, without fairly significant resources, that the user is currently in a decoy.
Second, self-consistency - the app's logic means that you can navigate between the two separate spaces without breaking plausible deniability.
So, for example, once you're in the decoy/second space, you can generate another decoy. It simply overwrites the original data in the first space, in a circle. This adds another layer of security.

Our privacy features:
(1) no user data pollutes the world's store of user information - no contributions to wrench attacks
(2) potential wrench attack mitigation, with a self-consistent plausible deniability system used for decoy watchlists and portfolios.
- You can build the decoy to match what you need.
- You can auto-generate them, in a pinch.

Sending everyone all the prices is literally the dumbest thing you can do. But the combination of a small payload and universal prices scales to millions very cheaply. In fact, because of our infrastructure, for the foreseeable future, the more people who use the app, the faster non-Tor refreshes are. It scales to millions of users very cheaply. And it's the very thing that enables users to verify the server isn't getting personal information through price-fetching. It's a kind of rare case where the dumbest thing also just happens to be the fastest and most private.
