Kaleb and I went out for dinner last night and I left a $20 tip on a $125 bill. The waiter didn't take it well and told us we shouldn't be going out to eat if we can't afford to tip at least 50. Now we're wondering if $20 isn't really enough.

@hopslugger 2 tables in a single hour with a $30-$50 tip is $60-$100 an hour. There are not many jobs that pay that much. I am talking economic reality here. Not what you think you deserve.

@darksabath3846 if that happens there wont be any restaurants all would have to eat at home and it does take skills you trying doing what we do most can't and high schoolers can't necessarily do the job its harder than you think by the way you talk you have never done this job

@PramilaJayapal Social programs are by far the largest federal expenditure currently. Military spending is like 20% of that. The government is supposed to defend the country. The government is not supposed to provide unlimited social programs.

The US has more aircraft carriers, more worldwide military bases, and a more defense budget than any nation in human history. But every time someone proposes Medicare for All, we are told the same thing: it's too expensive. We see exactly what this government values. And it isn't us.

@Matt_Pinner No. The landlord has to deal with raising property taxes, inflation, increased insurance rates, and tenants who turn into squatters when they don't pay their rent.

@TomSteyer The problem is supply and demand. The demand far outweighs the supply. Less and less smart people are becoming doctors because of lawsuits in this country. It's not worth it. So how do you address problem of not enough supply? Will it be rationed? Will you have a lottery?

We need single-payer health care. I've looked at the numbers, and there's no other way to bring costs down.

@jasonllevin Because those same states have 25-35% minorities not single digit. So there is a lot of criminal activity, generational living on social programs, and a general dislike of reading. If you removed the minority population in these states those states would be in the top 10.

@TomSteyer No one stops you from giving more. Don't force your ideas on others. That's the thing about rich people like you. You find every loop hole possible to save money and then act like you couldn't give more to the government of your own free will. Put your money where your mouth is.

Billionaires like me and big corporations need to pay more in taxes, because too many Californians are struggling to get by.

@brontyman Social programs is the largest budgetary item in the Federal budget. I would say the 50% of Americans who don't pay in but get social programs are the ones bankrupting America. Especially the ones who do it fraudulently.

@bangkokfrog @BladeoftheS One I do not hate billionaires. Two the majority for instance could shut down immigration thereby making sure they stay the majority forever. This is just a simple means of ensuring they are the majority forever. They could limit the amount of children you have like China did.

@bangkokfrog @BladeoftheS Yes, the majority rules. Therefore, the mob rules. Whoever has the most votes makes the laws. In such a government the majority will continue to make laws to make sure they stay in power. This will be at the detriment of the minority over time. You act like this does not happen.

Democracy means the people are sovereign. If they are sovereign they must be free. So the power conferred by the democratic process must be constrained by individual freedom. Democracy has 2 essential components Decisions made by majority consent Individual freedom. It's not mob rule and no one has special priveliges.

Voters, as the primary stakeholders in a democratic society, ultimately bear the consequences of their choices. As such, they can be considered the final arbiters of the common good.
