@aarf29 I agree, probably the hardest thing to do in sports. In my sport, football, training and hard work probably can get you a lot further than baseball. Recruiting is becoming increasingly difficult cause most athletes don’t see the work and the process is the reward.

@darrell64588458 It was not or never has been my intention to prevent any player from reaching their ceiling or striving for their dreams. Hitting a baseball is hard, doing it at that level is special. If it was just training and hard work more would be able to do it at that level.

I’m going to make a very controversial statement about hitting: 99.9% of #MLB hitters a born, not made. You are either born with the ability to be a major league hitter or you’re not. I firmly believe that.

@AdamArchuleta Thanks for getting me to analyze fundamentals I’m coaching. In gathering phase knees/hips are bent I liken it to squat position or spring that is coiled. striking phase naturally your body is going to rise. Makes sense teaching to engage horizontally as possibly, not vertically.

A lot of truth here. Don’t really understand the hit and lift aspect to teaching tackling. It’s unrealistic. You want to hit “through” the runner, a “penetrating” tackle with force projected more horizontally and towards the the ground. I like to think more “Saw him in half” The only time this is realistic is when you have an inside out tackler on a runner with a flat angle and the runner can’t see you. More of a DL pursuit tackle down the line. That’s really the only time you can “sprint” through him. More realistic you are hitting him thorough the shoulder and not down the middle face 1st. Still, force should be through him and towards ground. Not lifting on rise.

On Easter morning, this is what President Trump posted. Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness. I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit. I’m not defending Iran but let’s be honest about all of this. The Strait is closed because the US and Israel started the unprovoked war against Iran based on the same nuclear lies they’ve been telling for decades, that any moment Iran would develop a nuclear weapon. You know who has nuclear weapons? Israel. They are more than capable of defending themselves without the US having to fight their wars, kill innocent people and children, and pay for it. Trump threatening to bomb power plants and bridges hurts the Iranian people, the very people Trump claimed he was freeing. On Easter, of all days, we as Christians should be reminded that the son of God died and rose from the grave so that we can be forgiven once and for all of our sins. Jesus commanded us to love one another and forgive one another. Even our enemies. Our President is not a Christian and his words and actions should not be supported by Christians. Christians in the administration should be pursuing peace. Urging the President to make peace. Not escalating war that is hurting people. This NOT what we promised the American people when they overwhelmingly voted in 2024, I know, I was there more than most. This is not making America great again, this is evil.
