@_ToddBeane The only "benefit" is for those watching on as it gives a sense of structure. However - it has absolutely no benefit for the child as a player standing in a line is being denied an opportunity to develop.

Can someone explain to me the benefits of putting children in lines to learn to play soccer? It seems to me a player management issue far more than a player development agenda. I must be missing something. #TOVO #intelligentfootball

𝗠𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘃 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 Today’s sponsors, Chatham Town U14s, picked Darlington Aguagwa as Man of the Match. In only his second game for the Sports, Darlington put in an excellent performance. He was a constant threat, turning Welling’s defence inside out. His attacking presence was rewarded as he earned a penalty and assisted Jack O’Neill’s goal. #UptheSports 🔴⚪️

@FavershamTownFC Clearly more context behind this. Massive opportunity for the club to reassess and build stronger pathways from 16's upwards though 👍

Faversham Town Football Club can confirm that the club has parted company with First Team Manager Tommy Warrilow with immediate effect. This decision has been made following a difficult run of results since the start of 2026, with performances and outcomes falling below the standards expected by the club. The board would like to place on record its thanks to Tommy for his efforts, commitment, and professionalism during his time at the club and we all thank him for winning us promotion last season and wishes him every success in his future endeavours. Attention will now turn to rebuilding and planning ahead for next season, as the club looks to move forward and return to a level of performance that reflects its ambitions. Frannie Collin will be taking on the caretaker management roll of the men’s 1st Team until the end of the season. Further updates regarding the management structure will be communicated in due course. Gary Smart Chairman Faversham Town Football Club For and on behalf of the board.

@WhitstableAcad1 Was pukka to see my mate @LloydBlackman at this fixture. A genuine, no billshit, lovely man. I reminded him that we’ll see each other in National South in about 5 years!! The man is a proper down to earth, no big head, hero to us at Whitstable.

@BigShaw1 Think its worse than it's ever been mate because of politics being ever more prevalent on social media. Division and hatred is becoming part of every day life sadly.

Until the clubs get punished - financially, competitively, whatever - and there’s severe repercussions for allowing people to express this hate inside their grounds, nothing will change. Society is in a dark place at the moment
Helge Orome@Helgz_

It’s so boring now! We’ve been abused racially, verbally and physically all season. It’s funny how quickly we’ll get fined for wearing the wrong warm up top but the 4th racial incident this season… NOTHING. #dobetter

I believe that you base your formation on your group, but you have a favourite formation, mines 4-3-3. But, I'm starting to move over to the dark side of 3-5-2! You need the players to play WB, if you do, it's a game changer. #SundayShare community, what's your go to formation?

@coach_kevin_m Exactly this. The diff between 9's and 16's is puberty. Players physically/mentally change massively. What brought success @ U9 will be diff to what brings success @ U16. Don't focus on results @ U9 - focus on technical fundamentals that stay with a player forever.

A question I ask myself constantly: Will these players still be playing in 5 years time? In coaching, it's easy to optimise for the U9 scoreline. Win now. Look good now. But what's good for the U9 scoreline isn't always good for the U16 player. The same applies everywhere. Short-term wins can create long-term problems.
