the mistake most founders make when they hit 30 people adding process where they should be adding trust  process is a last resort if you can solve a coordination problem with better shared understanding  do that first  process feels productive because its tangible you can write it down and put it into a notion doc but trust is harder to show so when something breaks at 30 people the instinct is always  we need a process for this  but often what you really need is a better aligned team every unnecessary process is a tax on speed it adds steps and forces people to consult a doc before making a judgement call  in small doses that fine but at scale it creates a team that cant move without permission companies can stay fast at 100 people even without the best playbooks theyre simply the ones who hired people who understand the mission and trust each other enough to act without waiting for sign off that trust has to be built deliberately the purpose for any new process has to be crystal clear does this solve a coordination problem or a clarity problem coordination problems sometimes need process but clarity problems need conversation and better context not another meeting invite or approval flow
