my baby had colic, mom was bothered, she said I should call my big sister to tell me the medicine she used for her child, told her it wasn't necessary
I'm not in the medical field but I subscribed to the NHS, and they always sent weekly newsletter and colic was addressed in one of those,
She said I have to take him to the hospital then, I accepted. We got there and the doctor explained the same thing I was telling her, that's how she left me and Eno alone 🤣

When I had my first baby, omugwo ended at exactly 3 weeks because my mum and I were quickly turning into enemies. She brought silver bird, I said it wasn’t needed She brought abidec syrup, I insisted it was unnecessary She brought herbs and native soap, I said I already had my Johnson’s baby She brought alligator pepper, I vehemently rejected it. She said I should give my baby water because breastmilk wasn’t enough, I had to insist. Then she brought live edible maggots, put them in water overnight and said she’ll use the water to bathe my baby so he’ll stop wiggling like a worm. I think that was what caused the biggest quarrel. She said all her mates enjoyed their omugwo and I’m stressing her, I’m not the first person to study Pharmacy, doctors do not know anything. If I won’t let her use the maggot water to bathe my son, I should leave her house. Omo, I just packed up and left. The thing pained her, but I maintained my ground. Now when my colleagues blame new mothers for doing sitz bath or any other thing they were asked not to do, I always speak up in defense because I’ve been there and I know the pressure from mothers to do the ‘wrong’ thing is crazy.

@omoelele Lol. It's hilarious ooo. I had postpartum depression because of these people but thank God I had it because I was raging against any and every stupid advice. Plus I had equipped myself with knowledge so I was READY!

Antibiotics because of jaundice, drinking hot water, drinking only pap and ụda(I'm not a goat nu) and so many others. I yelled at her when she made remarks about my milk supply just two days after I had my baby.
