@leastprivilege Who cares, I don't read my code, no one should never understand my code, what matters is showing how cool I am.. look Ma another one-liner! 😓🤐

@_workchronicles I'm an over-thinker too, but I wanted to comment anyway 😉 that's because your comics are not only funny, but they help me explain our challenges to other people. Keep up with this great work!

Hi everyone! Thanks for all your wonderful comments on my comics. Tweeting this as I feel guilty about not replying. Replying takes a toll on me since I'm an over-thinker and I keep revising my sentences. Just wanted to let you know that I read & appreciate each comment.

@SapioSiren IDK really.. TBH I don't follow you, but Twitter suggests your tweets every morning, so now you've become a morning habit (addiction?).. anyways, frogs FTW 🐸🐸🐸

Are you a developer spending a lot of time worrying about lock-in to vendors or platforms? @ghohpe publishes the first installment of his analysis: showing how lock-in comes in many forms. martinfowler.com/articles/oss-l…

There is no trade-off of quality vs. speed in software. There never has been. Low quality means low speed. Always. The only way to go fast is to go well.

I'm publishing some 🔥 research today, a major design flaw in Windows that's existed for almost *two decades*. I wrote a blog post on the story of the discovery all the way through to exploitation. googleprojectzero.blogspot.com/2019/08/down-r…

@mweststrate @opencollect In my latest contract work I tried to “push” the client in supporting some OSS libs we were using, without luck.. they simply ignored every message about it. I tried to explain the damage if that projects will disappear in the future, but mgmt is too short sighted to realize that

Not quite sure whether I am today more snarky or more honest than other days🤷‍♂️ But alas, if an OSS is critical for your project, make sure you appreciate it in the way you should! Ideally, by sharing the burden, optionally through e.g. @opencollect opencollective.com/mobx #oss

@avdi MVC was viable AT THE TIME when it was conceived (30+ YEARS!) ago, and applicable to desktop GUIs, but it is unable to adapt to modern/complex architectures. I hope it will fade away eventually, but like every bad habit, I fear it won't..

Rails is not and has never been MVC. MVC is a pattern for managing rich *live* UIs, like the Smalltalk desktop GUIs it was created for. In MVC, GUI widgets subscribe to models. Rails delivers static information (HTML or JSON) in response to requests.
