This was a test run, to see what the fees and costings where, and to weigh up the ease of use the defi tech. I have to say im impressed with the tech yet very dismayed by the results. Now I know before anyone kicks off in the comments that 10 weeks is a very small window of time to test this out- I agree however, It was a test run. Lets look at the fee spread - again im not knocking the builders -amazing job, im just an average holder and going on my own feels. Staked 980 XRP End of Feb. Redeemed 978.04 XRP 8 May Total yield earnt was 1.51 FXRP <> 1.51 XRP {@4 %} So any yield I had accumulated was chewed up in Fees {and more} Lets look at the fees. 1}Service Fee by Xaman Wallet 2.45 XRP 2}Flare charged 1.04 XRP for "account instructions " 3}Flare Fee "account instructions " {redeem} 0.5 XRP 4}Flare Fee "account instructions " {redeem} 0.95 XRP 5} Flare Fee "account instructions "{redeem} 0.95 XRP Total fees : 5.89 XRP {Not joking -Lol!} Total yield 1.51 XRP Total fees : 5.89 XRP Net loss of 4.38 XRP over 10 weeks. I love the flare guys and Xaman guys- but if you want the average Joe to on boarded to XRPFI this needs some attention. Fee structures are not transparent, over the top and complex {imo}. Be interesting to see if this evolves in the future. The tech is brilliant, easy to use and very seamless. The results {yield} are not. We are still early in DEFI on the XRPL and i'm sure the teams will work on this. *Note, if we extrapolated this out to a 50 week test, we should have made 7.55 XRP and the outgoings would have cost 5.89 XRP - A Net win of 1.66 XRP. 1.66 XRP yield after fees for 12 months of staking is not for me🙄
