@AwayDaysFB This country has been too soft for decades. This is why some choose to be disrespectful. Because they can. Look at the state of the UK. It needs a good shake up, and some brutality to pull it back into folk being respectful like before.

Birdie is our oldest resident and against all the odds she has been with us for one full year now. The kitchen team threw her a little party! We so many tough situations for dogs that it's nice to celebrate the little wins. Birdie is a little angel of a dog

@AutoInfatuation EU free movement regrettably brought alot of this skullduggerry. We have our own bad apples to deal with. It's a tangled web our leaders weave.

I briefly worked with this guy about 12 years ago in a previous role and felt he was a bit dodgy then despite everyone at time thinking he was the best thing since sliced bread. Just could never put my finger on why. Then in 2019 he T-Boned us at 30mph, 150 yards from my parents house and wrote off our family car. Two years later he did a hit and run on another person in our town plus was under investigation for ‘endangering’ his staff and customers during Covid and was forced to resign as Mayor. Then it came out he’d essentially imprisoned and raped a woman twice whilst being abusive to his partner of which he had several children with. He was finally arrested and imprisoned but has been fighting deportation for a little while. He also has a criminal record from Latvia for theft which allegedly was a bank job gone wrong. Now he’s national news and I’m glad he’s being deported. Horrendous human being to say the least 😑
The Mercian@TheMercianNews

🚨JUST IN: The former mayor of Wisbech in Cambridgeshire is set to be deported back to his home nation of Latvia following a rape conviction. Aigars Balsevics, previously a Tory party member, was jailed for 6 years and a half years in 2023. A First-tier Tribunal judge had originally found in 2025 that deportation would be “unduly harsh” on his children and allowed his human rights appeal, but the Secretary of State successfully challenged this ruling, arguing that the judge had misapplied the law. In 2020, Balsevics was granted settled status in the UK, having arrived in the country to study around 2003/2004. Current Wisbech Tory councillor Steve Tierney said he "believed people deserved a second chance", and cited a report that noted that his children missed their father. However, the same report also recorded that they had witnessed domestic abuse, with the son experiencing night terrors and fearing abduction, which the report described as “significant harm.”

@PolitlcsUK Nothing more contemptuous than a dysfunctional government riding on the back of national sporting pride with one hand while continuing farcical handling with the other, hoping it takes the heat off the skullduggery it spreads. But aye, come on England.

@models_by_Russ After the last 2 years and the Chagos handling, this govt would likely hand over the islands rather than defend any invasion. If the Argentine were serious to take control, there has never been a better opportunity since Thatcher. Labour obviously bat for the other team.

Absurd decision to overrule Norway’s second goal for Haaland pushing back on Anderson ahead of a goal where the England midfielder would have had no impact on the eventual finish. Once again FIFA VAR favours the bigger nation. #NORENG #WorldCup

Illan Meslier will wear the No.30 shirt at Arsenal. He said: “I’m extremely happy. It’s a great day for me because I have just joined the champions. For me, Arsenal is the biggest club in England. I cannot wait to win trophies with this team, because this is a club that needs to lift trophies again and again.”

@theadelites It's an astounding move all round. If he's given up on ambition, then it makes sense however obscene. If Arteta is on crack as suggested, let's hope he selects him for the first team. Incredible transfer.

Illan Meslier's move to #Arsenal feels like he is giving up on his career. Meslier will be third-choice. You rebuild a career on the pitch in a lower league, you can't rebuild a career if you're not even on the bench. Good luck to him but I think it's a poor choice. #LUFC

Matt Cannon: “This is my asshole cat named Fighter. He showed up on our deck in the mountains 19 years ago and never left. He quickly proceeded to eradicate all signs of life around our property (chipmunks, birds, mice etc..) to his credit he ate them all. He also loved fighting every one of our neighbors cats he came across. He has slowed down now that he is 20 but still goes outside every day and dreams about his glory days. He’s dodged god knows how many mountain lions, bobcats, bears, fox and owls unlike most all other cats on our hill. His new favorite activity is howling at me starting around 4am for food and water. He refuses to drink water out of his bowl and only will drink out of the bathtub faucet, super weird but I oblige because he’s my bud and I know I’ll miss him dearly when he’s gone.” Via Fb

Geoff Boycott on his way to 137, 6th Ashes Test, The Oval, August 29th 1981. It was his last Test in England and his penultimate Test hundred. I queued outside The Oval from 2am to get in and this is a picture I have salvaged from that day using Photoshop

@wayneleedsfan He did Sunderland which I hadn't seen a keeper do in my life. Game or 2 later, hold my beer and watch this, against Hull away. Absolutely unacceptable, he was wretched. DF stuck with him way too long and had to be told from board level to drop him iirc. Arteta must be on crack.

@marshyleeds Where do I begin? Astonishing that they haven't got a 3rd keeper. Stunned he'd go to sit on the bench for 3 years to any club. Genuinely hope he sees some action in the first team and replicates some of those extraordinary n consistent gaffs. Any chance they take Brenda too??

Good luck to Meslier at Arsenal, it’s an incredible move for him and one he could not refuse. Amazing to think he could be facing the likes of Real, PSG etc. I don’t doubt that fresh start will do him good. A know a fair few who think Leeds should have kept him as our own No.2
