@Samatyorkshire @uwu_underground I thought the inside of the X351 was beautifully put together, just such a shame I didn’t have a good experience with it otherwise.

For reference there really isn’t any point “Engagement Farming” unless you have a tonne of blue tick followers and even so we don’t do that in the car community. You’ll often see the finance, investing or even Political accounts tweeting something very basic and every blue tick follower they have jumps on it with something equally as basic as it goes hand in hand for engagement and potential payouts. Also, Tyres and Brakes are quite an important thing for me as they are the only things connecting me to the road and stopping my car, respectively 🤷‍♂️🤔
Ian@SwedishRealEst

@AutoInfatuation Jeez Sam. I thought tyre brand debates were bad enough. You’ve really pulled a blinder with this… If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were engagement farming. You’re not, are you?

@G33PERS I just want some reliable decent ones really. I’ll only be doing about 4500 miles a year in this car so nothing major.

@AutoInfatuation Green stuff pads for ease of cleaning. Though I did just put brembo pads on the back of the range rover after a binding caliper as they were in stock locally. Discs from any of the well known brake manufacturers are much of a muchness imo. Unless you're going upgraded maybe?

100% need front brake pads for the XF-S, possibly need front discs too but yet to confirm that as they feel ok so far. What brand does everyone recommend now? Always went with Brembo on my Mercedes in the past……

I hear this a lot unfortunately. The client who owns the 911T S was trying to get into a new GT3. They made him buy two Taycan Turbo S’s and said he will more than likely need to buy another car within a year before they’d let him have it. Bought the Turbo S Taycans, barely used them then there was the insurance debate about high voltage battery recalls so he took them to Norwich, traded them both in for a very new GTS Cabriolet and forgot about the GT3 🤷‍♂️

@TheEvEngineer @jjbconsultltd Plonk 100’s of homes down then they never improve the infrastructure do they? In my village we are having a handful of new homes built right at the top but other than that the last homes to be built were about 15 years ago. Just all of a sudden having lots of leakage issues.

@gibberingphil @jjbconsultltd That would make an awful lot of sense, so do they put the hosepipe bans in to stop the stress momentarily on the pipework?

@AutoInfatuation @jjbconsultltd The ground is very dry after this run of weather and as the subsoil dries out and shrinks it stresses the (often very old) pipework.

@FatBloaterFX @Nath_______ I’ll be dealing with Porsche Centre Norwich in October on a 911 Turbo S, Porsche Cambridge already lost my customers business through lack of customer service so it’ll be interesting to see what Norwich are like.

@AutoInfatuation I used Pagid disks on my XF. Worked well and half the cost of Jaguar ones.

@AutoInfatuation If memory serves me right there is 3 different pads that can be on that .. I couldn’t get match via ViN and had to take pad over to euro car parts to match it .. I may be wrong though

@AutoInfatuation When I did mine I went for MTEC drilled and grooved discs and pads. They were excellent. And very reasonable.

@MattTakeThree Brembo I do hear a lot of bad things about now, they were always decent back in the day though. APEC I’ve not had any experience with so will have a look into those.

@AutoInfatuation APEC Cheap enough, and even under my torture they survived well. Brembo cheaped out when they went to euros etc. Pagid aren't worth a wank Good old ferodo seem to also survive my abuse.

Selling one of my private registration plates: Y5 NHL Can go on any UK car 2001> onwards Clean, short, low digit prefix registration. Retention document in my name and can be transferred instantly onto your car or can be sent by tracked post as it has a full 10 years left on certificate. Fancy another dateless plate to put on the Jaaaaag and this will make a dent in the price of one. Can send you my fairly new but slightly bent plates if you wanted them (Thank BMW for their stupid rounded plinth on the front of the E65/66) 📮 £350.00 ideally or near offer.

@originalbouff There is a bit of a wobble at higher speed braking. At first I thought my front wheels needed rebalancing but then I remembered it’s that generation of Jag 😅😆

@AutoInfatuation I had my XF-S SB for nearly 6 years, the front brakes like the XJ are a nightmare. Last year I went all out, replaced the front calipers then flexis with HEL performance and EBC discs and pads. Cost me nearly £1000, they lasted 6 months before brake wobble, try 70mph hard braking
