They are 15-15 and only have a WC spot bc 11 of the 15 AL teams have below .500 records. They have Basello who is their future and who needs to catch. Adley is in his 2nd to last year of control and the Os arent extending him if they have Basello lmao. That just be stupid and a waste of $$. Barring a miracle they are most likely not catching New York for the division. They also have Ike Irish and Creed Williems and Ethan Anderson who all are catching prospects who are up and coming and could easily debut next season. Irish might not debut next szn but the others very well could. Keeping Adley to maybe extend him with all them coming up isnt gonna happen unless you are planning on trading one of those catching prospects. Theres two trades as of right now that i want the @Reds to do sooner than later. 1) Trade for Brandon Marsh 2) Trade Tysteve and whatever prospects necessary to Baltimore for Adley (This is doable if Os keep falling) Gets you a bridge option at catcher and gets you a great outfield fix until you figure out if hector is for real or not. Mayo being 3B instead of Westy makes me nervous too, but that's what spring is for. Get him out there as much as possible & see if he's the player everyone says he is. It's his job to lose, IMO. If he's as bad as he was @ 3B last year then Blaze takes over when Jackson gets back.

@PigTownSports Mayo, yes. But why not give Mountcastle some reps at 3B as well the next 5 weeks? He came up as a SS and spent years at 3B in the minors. Since Alonso is playing 1B everyday, you need Mountcastle to play elsewhere, so this seems like common sense.

With westburg hitting the shelf for a bit I think you ride with Mayo for the time being . You trust your development of him and lean on Miguel Cairo and Mike Shildt and others to correct his throwing mechanics Kid has talent that he hasn’t fully reached yet
