@DollyWishes1 @theRCN The issue I think is they promote band 6's and 7's to make them management and don't give them any training on how to behave. They get power crazy and then start chucking their weight around. Gets to the point you can't leave as you are totally dependent on a reference..

@DollyWishes1 Agree with that. My wife is with @theRCN and they are useless as well. My wife is going through issues at work and they are as supportive as quicksand. I'm encouraging her to ditch them and go to Unison, but they sound the same?

@daveintheuk @GMB A lot of NHS workers were/are in Unison. They aren't any use when you actually need them for i.e. bullying in the workplace from Managers. They just like having meetings and rabble rousing.

@daveintheuk Hi Dave, you should buy your ticket before boarding. There are many ways to purchase tickets. You can buy them online in advance at eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk, at the station Ticket Office, from a Ticket Vending Machine this way you can avoid paying any Penalty Fare charges.^JB

@EastMidRailway is it ok to buy a ticket on the train between Gainsborough Lea Road and Lincoln despite it being a penalty fare stations? What are the rules? Lots of people buy them and are never fined?

@BMAResidents Demanding a new.offer from the tax payer when there is no more money. It's just Junior doctor greed. Time to ban doctors striking @wesstreeting . If they don't like their job, pay or employer then they find another like the rest of us. Not hold the country and NHS to ransom.

For the past five days, tens of thousands of resident doctors in England took strike action over jobs and pay, yet it didn’t need to happen. Our members showed their collective strength and are demanding a credible new offer from the Government.

These strikes didn’t have to happen. @wesstreeting should have come to us with a credible offer on jobs and pay. Instead, it was too little, too late, with no new jobs and no movement at all on pay. Resident doctors need jobs, and when they find those jobs, they need to be paid fairly for them!

@DrHWazir @QueenoftheUnde6 Long term planning of the NHS isn't part of a junior doctor remit. If you don't like your job, employer or your pay then leave and get another job like the rest of us have to. This is about money plain and simple and the juniors need to read the room on affordability of pay.

@QueenoftheUnde6 I look at it from a long term perspective, if doctors continue to leave waiting lists will get even longer and the NHS will deteriorate even faster. Wes Streeting could have resolved this months ago. He’s chosen not to.

As resident doctors return to work following the end of strike action, attention must return to the workforce issues that led doctors to take action in the first place. England is facing a serious jobs crisis for doctors. 40,000 doctors applied for 10,000 training jobs this year. In emergency medicine, there are now 14 doctors competing for every single A&E training job. In general practice, competition ratios are 5 to 1. NHS doctors who want to work, train and progress are being blocked from doing so, while patients experience long A&E waits and increasing difficulty accessing GP appointments. Alongside this sits the issue of pay. Doctors have faced years of real-terms pay cuts and sustained pay erosion, despite rising workload, responsibility and intensity of work. Wes Streeting has even recommended a real terms pay cut for next year. These are fundamental workforce issues that affect retention, morale and patient care. Against this backdrop, it has been disappointing to see senior politicians including @wesstreeting and @Keir_Starmer resort to dismissive language, describing highly trained medical professionals as “moaning minnies”, “juvenile delinquents” and “utterly irresponsible”, rather than engaging with these realities and with resident doctors on the ground. This type of rhetoric from the Government will not resolve the jobs or pay crises. Doctors can see through political spin and gaslighting. @TheBMA’s door remains open. Wes Streeting must now engage constructively, negotiate in good faith, and focus on delivering credible solutions on jobs and pay.
