But yet those younger generations are subject to endless jibes and attacks about too many coffees or "avocado toasts" and that's ok is it. Or is the fact it's now a 6 or 7 times salary multiplier to get a mortgage instead of the 3x back in the 90's

Boomers are such cowards, no one had it harder than them apparently. Unfortunately economics doesn't give a fuck about their feelings.

@Rab_Dickson1 So while we don't have 15% rates, 6% on a 300k mortgage is worse because maths. And so yeah the youngsters are pissed off, and you should be too because we fucked our kids future so a bunch of billionaires could get richer.

@Rab_Dickson1 And there isn't too many of those because shock horror, wages haven't kept up with inflation, let alone house prices. And you have to save for this house while paying hideously high rents and then can't borrow the sorts of money you'd been paying rent for.

@johnthebikeman I think the problem here is that not that they are republicans but are disgusted that Charles II isn't as racist as they are.

@helenvecht @SandyofSuffolk @helenvecht this whole thread is older people doing various versions of the 4 Yorkshiremen sketch while bashing other parents. It's tedious and unnecessary frankly. I'm a bit fed up of being told I'm doing it wrong by a generation that refuses to accept any of its mistakes.

@SandyofSuffolk I also started school in 1963. I had buckled shoes and couldn’t tie laces. I did most of Janet & John in the first year. (2 editions in 2 schools) I knew my address and could walk home on my own. It’s no longer safe.

Going to school aged 5 in 1963 we were all toilet trained, could use cutlery, pens, knew the alphabet, could read Janet and John books, could tell the time, tie our shoelaces and ties, button up our coats and knew our own address. And between then and now somehow it all went wrong. But why?

@cycling_dave They literally make shit up and then get angry with it. Maybe they should go for a nice bike ride to help them feel calm.

@Nineball_crnpkt @JackWDart Hey yank, how many kids got shot to death in American schools this week? Maybe you should fix your own country before talking shit about someone else's.

I am not a Labour voter but what Trump says about Sadiq Khan is rubbish. He keeps pushing the line that London is broken and that Khan is to blame. I live here. I do not just stick to the west of the city where I live, I move around and see it as a whole. London is alive, busy, and brilliant. It is nothing like the picture painted by Trump or the right. Trump is not confused, he knows what he is doing. He plays up division because it suits him. The truth is that London’s strength comes from the mix of people who call it home. Different cultures, faiths, beliefs and backgrounds all live side by side. That is what makes the city powerful and wonderful, and why I think it is the best city in the world. And whilst I do not vote for Sadiq in London, I believe he is a decent man, a man of principle, and that counts for far more than the sneering right who shout down any good he does for their own political gain.

@cycling_dave So piracy then, has he forgotten he's not in the military anymore and can't go boarding other people's boats migrant or otherwise. Also don't we still hang pirates.

@cycling_dave What is it with right wing Christians forcing their religion on others. Last time I checked Nepal was a Buddhist country.

Fuck me! how many layers of wrong with the big white benefactor gifting shiny jew jaws to the ignorant peasant children who would never be welcomed by the big white chief on the coin, nasty shades of empire all over this

It’s EASTER SUNDAY🐣 and instead of giving out Easter eggs here in Nepal along the Khumbu Valley, I’m giving out TRUMP coins… 🫡🇬🇧🇺🇸 HAPPY EASTER everyone! Have an amazing day! Romans 10:9 📖

@StueyGardner @JohnCranney @Acyn That's EXACTLY why you have elections in wartime. The UK had campaigns and elections while V2's were dropping. They voted out Churchill as a war hawk, he wanted keep marching through Moscow, like Patton and many on the US side. Yes, have an election.

Collins: How do you hold an election in Ukraine right now? Schmitt: We do it.. Collins: But we don’t have missiles falling on American cities right now and half of our young men aren’t on the front line.

In case you're wondering how far behind the USA is on infrastructure, France is building 120 miles of automated subway lines with 65 stations for $45 billion in 17 years.
