Dragons Back Race ✅ An incredible week in the Welsh mountains. The people and the surroundings were just spectacular, not so much the weather, but I wouldn’t change any of it. Very happy to get this one done 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🐲🏔️

Heading off for a 3 day Pennine Way recce from Alston through to Kirk Yetholm. After this weekend I’ll have covered the whole of the route 👌🏼 Was hoping to test out all my Winter kit, but the weather is looking too good for that. Adventure time!

In the never ending hunt for kit that will help me get to the finish of @TheSpineRace in Jan I’ve gone for some luggier trail shoes to (hopefully) help with the bogs. Also trying an Inov8 race pack which is the same as Jack Scott used this Jan.

Also had a great conversation with the media team at Leeds hospital today and they want to do a bit of a write up about having brain surgery, the recovery, then my training leading up to the Winter Spine race. Exciting.

A year ago today since the steady handed neurosurgeon at LGI spent 6 hours sorting out the fact part of my brain had slipped out. Unbelievably grateful for what they did for me, and lucky to be back doing the things I enjoy with minimal remaining symptoms.

@davemoulding I'm just imagining 2:15 speed on the trails....

Everyone who says this would give up every single thing they have ever done in running to run a sub 2:15 marathon.

@SteAssent I completely get that 2:15 is elite and stands alone as an athletic achievement from most things running wise, I’m just happier with a focus on adventure/experience over performance these days. It would be a heavy flex though that’s for sure.
