I ticked over 400k followers a few days ago Some unfiltered thoughts on the journey: 1) I started this account almost five years ago. The first year felt like a decade, the last two kinda flew by. 2) I have roughly the 100x’d my net worth in that time. My NW is still maybe only a third of what it was at its (on paper) ATH. 3) The best way to build a following and have a valuable account is to post interesting and valuable stuff. Everything else is kinda just noise. 4) It’s less fun now than it was in 2023 which was less fun than 2022 which was less fun than 2021. It’s still fun tho. 5) InfoFi has made the CT experience worse for the vast majority of people. 6) AI slop bot replies have made the X experience infinitely worse for the vast majority of people. 7) People shilling projects has always been a problem. It was bad in 2021. It’s worse now. The amount of undisclosed paid shilling and paid content (from so many accounts that many of you probably respect) is, at least from my perspective, at an all time high. 8) There is still insane levels of alpha and golden content on this app. Following the right people can still basically lead you to riches. 9) Because of the above, curating your timeline has never been more important. 10) It’s easy to get jaded after years in crypto. It’s hard to remain excited and enthusiastic about the future. It’s worth trying to take the hard road. Crypto is still fucking amazing, and will change the world, and we’re still unironically early (we’re just not early early). 11) CT is an absurdly small bubble. Your little algorithm-created bubble on CT is even smaller. Crypto is *so* much larger than what this app shows you. 12) A good general rule is the loudest accounts with the most followers are good at being loud and getting followers, but not that good at trading or investing or building businesses or whatever. Almost all of the best traders and builders have no CT account, or have like 157 followers. 13) I’ve seen about a billion projects over the years. As an investor, advisor, founder, friend of a founder, or just a market participant looking in from the outside. Almost all of them have failed. Like, genuinely over 99%. The failure rate is sky high. 14) They mostly failed cause they were bad ideas, built poorly, without an ability to capture market share and generate revenue. They often didn’t fail right away either, and were propped up by bull market mania until a bear market exposed their weaknesses. 15) This place is very much still like high school with various cliques and associated bullying and herd mentality and what not. That’s kinda life tho. 16) Most people have a lot less money than you think they do. Most people share their wins and hide their losses (and even most of the ones that pat themselves on the back for sharing occasional losses, share like 1 loss to every 7 wins or something still-unrealistic). 17) Everyone still wants to get rich quick around here. The human condition, I guess. I got stupid lucky to make it to where I am (and still almost didn’t make it). Most people don’t get nearly as lucky. The best path to wealth imo is the slow one. 18) Most people would have happier lives if they spent less time on this app. 19) Most people would have more money if they spent less time on this app. 20) Most people don’t think that they’re most people. Go figure. 21) Basically everything trends towards zero given enough time. Crypto entropy is real. Take profits, secure your bag, and stack the small wins. 22) Trying to impress mostly anons on the internet is a fools errand. Most of us are fools. There are still like 3 accounts on here that live rent free in my head for some reason. 23) If you struggle with mental health, CT is probably just gonna make it worse. What’s the solution? Everyone is different but I think a pretty general solution is something like: touch grass, lift heavy weights, walk more, sleep more. 24) I’m about to hit the word limit, gg💜
