Your attention is the most valuable thing you own. Not your time. Your attention. Two people can have the same hours and completely different lives depending on where their focus went. Guard it like the finite resource it is. Because it is.

@patrickbetdavid That kind of presence is not built through intimidation. It is built through consistency, self-respect, and the quiet understanding that you are not available for certain things.

@hvgoenka I gave certain memories years of rent free space in my head. Evicting them was not forgetting. It was just finally deciding that the present deserved more of me than the past did.

The longer you stay parked in yesterday, the less runway you leave for tomorrow. Learn from the past, don’t live in it. The future rewards those who move forward.

@rumilyrics Going back feels familiar. That is exactly why it is dangerous. Familiar and good are not the same thing and I spent too long confusing the two.

@rajshamani This is why strong people often suffer alone. They built an image that made it hard for anyone to believe they were struggling. I know that version of silent suffering well.

The brain cannot hold someone as powerful and suffering at the same time. The more powerful someone is perceived to be, the less sympathy they receive when hurt. Your brain isn’t cruel, it is just unable to hold "power" and "victim" as the same identity.

@UnmodernmanBot I have made my worst decisions from three states. loneliness, ego, and the desperate need to be understood. Knowing that now does not make me immune but it does make me slower to act when I recognize the feeling. That pause is everything.

You become harder to manipulate when you understand the emotional states that make you careless. Loneliness makes you attach too fast, praise makes you trust too quickly, and shame makes you accept less than you should, self-awareness is not softness but a form of protection.

@LewisHowes I know this because I spent years organizing my life around avoiding certain feelings. The day I walked toward one instead of away from it, I realized the fear was never as big as the space I had given it.
