The team at 5 News would like to pay tribute to one of our own legends.
One of our longest-serving camera operators, Mark Vinall, has sadly died at home after a long illness.
Many of the excellent pictures you have seen on this programme over the past 20 years were filmed by Mark. He was brilliant at his job and a delight to work with.
Mark loved 5 News and we loved him. We will miss him dearly.

Glasgow City Council says the UK Government’s igored its calls for a pause on asylum seekers being sent to the city. It’s previously said large numbers of homeless refugees puts pressure on services.

An extreme wildfire warning is in place for most of Scotland today - after days of dry conditions fuelling fires across the UK.
Galloway Forest Park, which is West of Dumfries, has been particularly badly affected. Mountain rescue teams say it's been "burnt out".
