With the line via Catford and Bromley South closed for engineering work, @Se_Railway are running a special shuttle between London Cannon Street and Bromley North, providing a rare chance to travel over the link at Grove Park. Added bonus of having celebrity unit 465908.

For anyone who’s enjoyed SNL UK’s superb sketch about the 1984 British pork “My wife’s got what it takes” advert, Map Men are jumping on the bandwagon to repost our own homage we did last year.

I joined the crowd yesterday to sample the Class230 on its first day in passenger service. The battery-powered unit will operate the West Ealing-Greenford line on Saturdays only for the time being.

Blending in with its surroundings at London Marylebone, 66510 on the tail end of the Chiltern RHTT set. 66507 was up front. I believe these locos are temporarily fitting with tripcocks as this circuit operates over parts of the Metropolitan Line.

It was a lot of fun having Geoff join me on a tunnel walk of Mail Rail. If you want to walk them yourself, The Postal Museum have weekly tours taking place all year. Book via the website. Unfortunately, the graveyard is not currently included.

It was great to meet Luke and show him around. If you've ever wondered what the tunnels & stations of the former Post Office Railway are like, then The Postal Museum offers walking tours on a weekly basis. Our Christmas tours start this month, you can book via the museum website.

THE MAIL RAIL - THE TINY LONDON UNDERGROUND I had a lovely time exploring the small tunnels of the Mail Rail in London. The Mail Rail was an underground, driverless electric railway that ran from 1927 to 2003 to transport mail between sorting offices.

Not your usual Central London traffic along Pall Mall. Organised by the Royal Automobile Club (RAC), the St James's Motoring Spectacle has over 130 cars and bikes on display. Many of the pre-1905 cars will take to the roads tomorrow for the annual London-Brighton car run.

Today marks 8 years of Mail Rail at The Postal Museum, opening up a small section of the former Post Office Railway beneath the streets of London. I've been with the museum for much of that time, driving the trains and leading tunnel tours before joining the Estates team.

Travelling back south to London. A comical suprise to have 2 class 165 units in place of the expected 68/MK3 set for the journey down. On arrival, however, a welcome bonus of finding 68032 with a MK5 set on test from Banbury.

I haven't posted here for a while. This weekend, I'm back in the homeland for an event. Travelled up with Chiltern to Birmingham and then onwards with Avanti to Preston. 68012 seen on arrival at Birmingham Moor Street and 390047 similarly at Preston.

Yesterday saw The London Bus Museum's Spring Gathering at Brooklands. A large number of buses and coaches of all ages on display with some providing free trips around Weybridge.

Can't believe it's been a week already since my weekend spent volunteering at the London Transport Museum's Acton Depot for the first of this year's open weekends. The next dates are 6th, 7th & 8th June. Highly recommended to all.

I've spent much of today down in the tunnels of Mail Rail with various contractors, walked around 4 miles in all back and forth. It's a privilege to be able to work on a rail line very people even know about.

Battersea Park is normally served by two London Overground services a day. One early morning starter and one late night terminator. Today, all services on the South London Line are diverting here in place of Clapham Junction, giving the station a 15-minute Overground service.

I am currently at the hospital receiving the third dose of new medication for my Crohn's. Diagnosed nearly 8 years ago, it's not a pleasant condition to live with. It affects my mental health, too. I've had some very low points. Full agreement with everything on the board here.
All On The Board@allontheboard

It’s Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week. It takes guts to talk about Crohn’s and Colitis, but we can do it and break the stigma. Sending love to everybody affected by these conditions. #CrohnsAndColitisAwarenessWeek

After a 5 year wait, I finally got to see the Crash Test Dummies live. The Canadian band are currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 'God Shuffled His Feet' album. It was great to hear Brad's bass-baritoned voice live, with the band creating a fantastic energy.

A nice treat on the commute home tonight. The first of the 'light refreshed' Central Line trains. New audio-visual announcements, lighting, flooring, and seat moquette patterns. It also features the same traction motors as the S Stock, so it sounds just like them.

My first South Western Rail class 701 'Arterio' journey with 701037 bringing me into London Waterloo earlier. Other than the interior reminding me of the class 707s, there's little to shout about. For me, the least interesting of the type.
