Our survey and petition remain open and we are also particularly keen to hear residents’ views on the importance of free, accessible town centre parking. After significant local pressure from residents and working on a cross-party basis we have seen response from Reform-led NNC, including indications that parking provision will need to be retained as part of any future development. But this is far from settled. We will continue to scrutinise every step and hold Reform-led NNC to account to ensure Wellingborough is not left with less than it has now.

On Sunday, I attended the Holocaust Memorial Service at Swanspool Gardens in Wellingborough. 🕯️ Across Wellingborough and Rushden, events around Holocaust Memorial Day reflect a shared commitment to bridging generations. This included a thoughtful memorial display created by students at Weavers School, offering a space to reflect, remember and learn, and demonstrating how younger generations are engaging with remembrance. This year’s theme, Bridging Generations, speaks directly to that responsibility. The theme feels especially resonant following the recent death of Eva Schloss, a survivor of Auschwitz and a lifelong voice for Holocaust education. Her passing reminds us that memory is not something we inherit automatically; it is something we must actively protect. We remember not only to honour the past, but to shape a more just future. #HolocaustMemorialDay @HolocaustUK

Happy Republic Day to everyone celebrating! 🇮🇳 It was a pleasure to attend the Republic Day celebrations yesterday organised by @theWDHA at the Highfield Community Centre, marking 77 years of the Republic of India 🇮🇳 . The evening was filled with incredible performances, from vibrant dance routines to moving poetry. They reflected the richness of Indian culture and a strong sense of pride and community. Thank you to the organisers, performers and everyone involved for a memorable celebration.
