Favreau and Filoni's absolute fear of tackling politics in any way has led to #TheMandalorianAndGrogu being the most apolitical Star Wars story yet. Because of their narrative ineptitude, the film's most triumphant moment is the New Republic bombing the shit out of Nal Hutta. Weaver's character tells you retroactively that the Hutts "chose a side" but it makes absolutely no sense strategically and morally. The Twins are already dead. Embo is gone. The only active threat towards Mando is a bunch of droids. So what does he do? Exactly! Call in a fucking airstrike to burn that place to the ground. I know this movie absolutely does not want you to question such things, but the way the New Republic just levels an entire palace (likely full of servants and potentially slaves, DEFINITELY full of little Hutt babies) IDF style is fucking insane. Utterly bizarre thing to witness as *the* big moment of triumph.

@TrashPandaGirll I've felt everything you were saying until you said it was hard. It might be too easy for me to hate them. Probably because I've seen most of the time when confronted about it, they would rather stay willfully ignorant than change. Even if they know that they cause harm to others

High empathy sucks cause when you understand why people are the way they are you realize most people aren't truly evil they're just dumb and incapable of viewing the world outside of their own experiences which makes it hard to truly hate them even if they are ugly inside.
