Please join me in supporting this wonderful idea. A statue of Terry in Colwyn Bay. The idea for a statue came from Terry’s friends at Theatr Colwyn in Colwyn Bay. Terry was their first, and only, patron for some time. After we lost him to dementia in January 2020, they contacted us and asked if we thought a statue of Terry might be something we could help them with. Born in Colwyn Bay, Terry never got over being transplanted to Surrey at the age of five. He fiercely proclaimed his Welshness in an accent straight out of Guildford. Terry would be so proud if a statue of him could encourage people to visit Colwyn Bay and continue his passion to help promote the arts in North Wales. The plan is to have a life size statue, sat on the promenade in Colwyn Bay not on a plinth but on the ground next to kids eating ice cream in the summer and brave souls donning wetsuits for a winter dip in the bay. We thought he would like it best if he was in character, something for people to recognise with a chuckle. Just got another @X response asking why so many @StarTrek actors are "horribly political". This amuses me, as these complainers never call actors who express opinions that they like "horribly political"; rather "smart" [as they, no doubt, see themselves.] I happen to think "smart" is something very different than they do, which is my right. And I hope it remains my right after NOV 5th. That's why I support candidates who DON'T promise to be a "dictator on Day 1 " and that, if they win, there "wont't be any more voting" after this coming election. If you find my statement "horribly political", just unfollow me and only follow those you are in political "lock-step" with. Thanks for your courtesy!

Ok people, enough of Farago. Here's why I hate him. Eight years ago I could travel in Europe passport free, I could live in any country and work in any country and stay as long as I liked. Now I cannot. I can stay only three months in all of Europe. He effectively burned my passport. For that I will never forgive him.

Honestly - a few of the replies to this little tribute to engineering excellence exhibit a level of stupidity that suggests to me that it won’t be long before our spacecraft are the only thing that remains of our increasingly dim-witted civilisation. Until recently my guess has been that the answer to the Fermi Paradox might be found in biology - complex biological systems are rare. I’m increasingly of the view that the reason for The Great Silence is that civilisations are inevitably crushed by the weight of nobheads shortly after inventing the internet.
