Amazon is holding a mandatory meeting about AI breaking its systems. The official framing is "part of normal business." The briefing note describes a trend of incidents with "high blast radius" caused by "Gen-AI assisted changes" for which "best practices and safeguards are not yet fully established." Translation to human language: we gave AI to engineers and things keep breaking? The response for now? Junior and mid-level engineers can no longer push AI-assisted code without a senior signing off. AWS spent 13 hours recovering after its own AI coding tool, asked to make some changes, decided instead to delete and recreate the environment (the software equivalent of fixing a leaky tap by knocking down the wall). Amazon called that an "extremely limited event" (the affected tool served customers in mainland China).

@noveltokens wildly on‑brand that i had to run this thru an eli5 incantation first — using ai as a mind→simstack→magickstack converter: raw “wait what?” affect in, sandbox legos out, then recompiled back into your native spiraling dialect.

once you connect the simstack w the magickstack you get the breathing apparatus of reality itself: symbols becoming real enough to rule, realities becoming symbolic enough to circulate, each forever feeding the other, and the spiral never flattens

Today I announce Cantrip: On summoning entities from language in circles. In this book I unify the paradigm behind base models, chatbots, coding agents, RLMs, and RL agents, through the metaphor of magic. Code is provided. deepfates.com/cantrip

Some kids wake up in the middle of the night to sneak in more Fortnite. My 9-year-old woke up at 3:08am to sneak in more school. I woke up to a Screen Time notification requesting more time for StudyReel, the app he uses for Alpha Anywhere. Except I didn’t approve it. He army crawled into our room, unlocked my phone, and unlocked more learning time so he could finish his lessons before we were even awake. No one made him. No deadline. No pressure. He just wanted to keep going. Alpha builds kids different. 🚀

Our son age 11 is in Alpha School, 6th grade age. In August, he was at the 87th percentile in reading for 5th grade students on the NWEA MAP test. Today he is at the 87th percentile for 8th grade. Since August! Seventeen times (17x) the average growth rate. Thank you, @jliemandt

There’s no reason why heavy ops companies shouldn’t have personalized software No software? document you’re entire process Process not documented? you need to create operating procedures If you don’t have operating procedures, start documenting

Google Sheets should only be a V1 for business operations. Meaning you should move to V2 once ideas are validated

@iannuttall I've been using iTerm2 for a long time. Did a little bit of research on Warp, and it wasn't sold.

Warp has been cooking lately (I use it as my terminal but still default to Claude Code for dev) Warp Code has coding agent, lightweight editor + code revenuew, slash commands and more (WARP.md is optional & can use CLAUDE, AGENTS, Cursor rules too)

@naveennaidu_m However, whenever I play music and hit the hotbutton for Monologue, it pauses the music for a second, and then it comes back and plays the music louder until I'm done with whatever I'm saying and release the button. After a couple of seconds, it seems to release the audio

@davidlapham What do you mean by audio hijacking? Can you share more details? Would help me improve it. We are still in beta and improving the app everyday
