Just finished watching a very informative webinar organised by @IndependentAge to launch their latest research ‘Surviving not Living’ highlighting the impact of 4 main household bills on pensioners with a fixed income. Worsening hardship almost four years on from the start of the cost of living crisis. Now it’s not just energy bills causing worries, but also rising council tax ; water bills, and broadband costs. Urgent need for easier access to the help available and consistency of support wherever you live. #pensions #costofliving

@CivilCspa welcome today’s announcement that #winterfuelpayments will be re-instated to around 9 million pensioners earning below £35,000. This new threshold is 3 times the #Pensioncredit income threshold a year imposed by last July`s announcement, and is in line with average earnings. This is a major U-turn in response to the widespread public anger at the decision taken in July last year, which CSPA has actively opposed with our partner organisations, at our meetings with MP`s and at Parliamentary demonstrations.
