Second time playing the MacKenzie at @21golfclub. It gets better every single time and when we complete the 18 holes this Fall, I truly think it will stand as an one of the great testaments of Dr. Alister MacKenzie’s genius. MacKenzie’s Utilitarian Era leaned heavily on reducing bunkers and relying on land formations - it’s hard to find a golf course that embraces those ideals as much as the MacKenzie. The course will reside on 100 acres, it will only utilized 60 acres of turf. It will only have 15 bunkers & 9 shared greens. The MacKenzie’s greens in their totality are insane, but the massive swales contained within those green complexes really seperate the two or three different pin positions. You can play the MacKenzie as a matchplay course and pick your tee boxes and pins- or you can play it straight up. It’s versatility is part of its greatness. #golfhistory @JustinWheelon
