FOUR YEARS LATER. NOT THE SAME MAN. OLDER BY THE CALENDAR. YOUNGER WHERE IT COUNTS. #throwbackthursday @The100Club100 A few people have asked how I got here. Figured it was time for an update. THE LOW POINT August 2022. Age 65. 5’5”, 240 lbs. Carrying more fat than I care to admit. Bloodwork was a mess: • Testosterone: 89 ng/dL • A1C and triglycerides: flirting with diabetes • Sleep apnea: CPAP plus oxygen • Asthma: constant I felt it every hour. Doctor kept it simple. Fix it, or shorten the timeline. But I wasn’t done yet. THE START No magic. Just work. And stubbornness. • Calculated BMR • High protein, low carbs and fats • 300 calorie daily deficit • Tracked everything Movement started small: • Half-mile walks • Added distance daily • Built to 6+ miles Nothing heroic. Just consistent. THE TURN February 2023, I joined a gym. Watched younger guys training hard. Something old woke up in me. I wanted that again. Badly. Early days weren’t pretty: • Two repaired rotator cuffs • Bicep torn and reattachment • Chronic arthritis Did it anyway. By August 2023, Age 66 • Down 80 lbs (240 → 158) • Bloodwork normal • Asthma gone • Sleep apnea gone • Tendinitis still hanging around The machines went away. So did the excuses. THE BUILD Switched gyms. Got serious. March 2024: • Real bodybuilding program • 4-day split • Calorie surplus February 2025, Age 67 • 180 lbs • This time, it’s muscle Started working with @antidoc early on when he launched coaching. NOW March 2026, Age 68 • 182 lbs (but sadly still 5’ 5”) • But this time, it’s a whole different look. No limits. No finish line. No going back. Nothing I won’t do for it. Just adding more. As much as this frame will carry. Time made its move. I made mine back.

@RodneyRemix @The100Club100 That’s awesome man. I’m 3 months into my renewal at 53. Two bad shoulders and ruined knee has me going slow. Thanks for the inspiration

@WillStandridge I think the solution is getting people to practice what they are taught not just listen. I find as I work with churches that far too many people just listen with little to no practice. Jesus said the foolish merely listen but do not put into practice what he taught.

TBH, and I mean no disrespect, I see this kind of stuff all the time and just don’t agree with it anecdotally. Preaching and long-form teaching when does well is the most transformative thing in a church and seems to sit underneath lots of good cultural stuff.
Jeff Vanderstelt@JeffVanderstelt

Of all the learning methods, lecture is the least effective (5% retention) of them all. If this is the case why do we still do so much of it in the church?

Great night watching @DustinNickerson absolutely KILL his sold out show in Everett, WA. I’ve been a huge fan since I met him after a set he did at a pastor’s conference nearly 10 years ago. I never miss him when he’s in the PNW. @netflix it’s time to get this man a special!

@JulesDiner @TheoManBabies They should do both. Every time it’s been reported to me, involving the law is one of the first things we do. Mandatory reporting is important. Sadly, some people aren’t ready to involve the police and it gets difficult

@BudBrownLE @DZRishmawy I agree 100%. Paul might say to the congregation today ‘you ought to be teachers by now’. Christians have an individual responsibility to learn to feed themselves. The Pastor plays a role in that but it’s a limited one

@DZRishmawy The listener has a responsibility to pay attention and listen. Most people can’t concentrate and follow a line of reasoning for more than a few minutes because they have not disciplined themselves and gained control of their minds. Prone to wander…

Allowed it? They planned it. They’ve systematically defunded rural schools by first taking away counties ability to fund themselves by shutting down industries such as logging and fishing. This had the fuel impact of encouraging people to move out of small towns and into metro areas. Then they broke their promises when they cut the funding that was supposed to make up for the loss of timber receipts. Then they decided that instead of teaching kids reading writing and math (and music, art, history) and replaced this subjects with curriculum designed to socially engineer their minds. While at the same time hiring teachers that were more activist than educators. All while reducing administrators ability to maintain order in the class and safety in our schools. They have become more daycare than places of learning and students are allowed to misbehave and act out (or worse, I’ve heard rumors of 2nd and 3rd grade girls being g touched by older kids and nobody dies a thing about it) because nobody wants to be sued by parents who themselves were never taught how to conduct themselves in civilized society. It only makes sense if you start from the assumption that this was the plan all along. Reduce funding. Reduce standards. Reduce the opportunity for education. Keep a few districts in the right places functional so as to allow for some kids with the right parents to be successful. This is how Marxists operate. And our state is lousy with them at all levels. They infiltrated Oregon in the late 70s. I know. I saw it happening all throughout my education in the 80s and 90s. Ever wonder why the SEIU and the OEA (state worker and teacher union respectfully) both have close ties to the Democratic Socialists of America? Were you aware of that? Sorry, you touched a raw nerve on that one. My son is almost 7 and I pay $1400 a month I don’t really have to keep him in a private school until he is at least in 9th grade. He’s a first grader and already leading a 2nd language as his been in 2 theater productions, does coding and chess after school. Lots of Art and music. Oregon spends $16,000-19,000 per student, I spend 17,000-18,000 plus donations at funding drives. It’s not how much they spend, it’s how it’s spent.

Beers are $20 at the Hayden Homes amphitheater in Bend, Oregon. You can blame the city who allowed the amphitheater's expansion, Hayden Homes, and Live Nation. The concerts are not for the folks who live in Bend. They are for the California transplants and tourist crowd. Nothing the City of Bend nor the Chamber of Commerce does supports the locals who live and work in Bend. It's appalling and grotesque. .@cityofbend .@HaydenHomes

I seriously need some help here. My neighbor just put up this massive metal fence right along our property line and I’m honestly pretty upset about it. It completely changed the whole feel of my driveway and now it looks like I’m pulling into some kind of industrial corridor. I had no idea this was even happening until the thing was already built. It feels like my space just got boxed in overnight. What on earth can I do in a situation like this???

@JoforOregon News flash from someone who lived in Bend first in 96-97 and again in 99-2014. Bend hasn’t been for the folks that live in Bend for over a decade. But Baldy’s is still the best BBQ in the state. Prove me wrong on either count.

Unpopular pastoral opinion: Losing the midweek gathering of the church and replacing it with “small groups” in homes on various nights has been a net negative for the fortification and mission of the church. There are positives, there are negatives. Overall, it’s been an L.

Brock Thomas threw to Oregon players during their pro day. Just that choice alone tells you Oregon pass catchers believe in him. Dylan Raiola will have to earn the #2 spot behind Dante. Nothing will be given.

@GigaBasedDad I am Catholic. It is not a denomination. It is the only Church Christ established. It is the only Church. Every thing else is the product of some man going into schism. Like jumping off Noah's ark and thinking you made the better choice.

@JordanReffett I’m more confident in DC. Tosh was a good DC but will be a better HC. OC. They think he’s a genius. Jury will be out but with a veteran QB. Good OL, WRs elite, very good RB room. And top tier D it will be hard to screw up.

The only possible reason Oregon is not the consensus #1 team in CFB is that they have never won a natty. All evidence points to the 2026 Ducks being talked about the same way 2024 Ohio State was in the preseason.
College Football with Sam@CFBwSam

Oregon is standing at +850 odds to win the national title, per FanDuel. That's 5th in CFB. Oregon was power rated 4th in FPI, 3rd in SP+, and 2nd in FEI, and they return more NFL players than any other team. Why are they not the consensus preseason No.1 team?

Why did God allow a 600-year-old man (Noah) to build an ark instead of simply saying, "Let there be an ark?" 🤷🏽

@ReformedPolemic @ray_hintz @tombuiter94 @SWBTS Worship is much more than singing alone. Services should be filled with much silent worship. The hearing of the word. Silent Prayers. Listening to the church sing, in many ways we participate in worship without making a sound.
