The S26 Ultra screen is clearly a big downgrade compared to the S25U and S24 Ultra.

@Wvisioncreation @smasithick I used the S24U for a year and I've been using the S25U for over a year now. This photo, taken at 10x zoom at night in difficult conditions, is quite typical of what you get with an S25U, and the S26U isn't much better, so I'm not surprised

Shame how thousands of shots go unnoticed… but one failed photo bug, processing failed, or no Night 🌙 suddenly becomes “the trend.” My friend just tapped the shutter. If it failed, that’s not on him. The real issue? We ignore consistency… and obsess over exceptions.

@gorginos15 @Wvisioncreation Absolutely, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is certainly capable of handling this, given that Pixel phones achieve good results with less powerful and even older chipsets. The sensor used for the 3x zoom in the S26U is a step backward ->gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy…

@Wvisioncreation @davidsicur ofc but the "differences" look smaller when Expert RAW or gcam is used. Besides my Pixel 7 from 2022 with an old chipset and smaller sensor had better HDR processing. I am sure S25 Ultra has more than enough to handle such conditions in 2025 but needs optimizations.

@davidsicur I am not, because I shared a lot about the bad decisions of auto mode on the S25 Ultra by choosing the wrong metering for the scene and how Expert RAW fixed that. I requested Samsung a lot to fix that issue in auto mode, and they did it with the S26 Ultra's auto mode.

@gorginos15 @Wvisioncreation This is partly a marketing tactic to sell the next model. Samsung phones receive very few camera updates, and the quality hasn't significantly improved on my S25 Ultra, or only very slightly. That doesn't mean it's bad, but it could be better

@Wvisioncreation @davidsicur is this a normal behavior from Samsung? To include the fixes only in the next model and not in the current one? Does that mean the S26 won't get any fixes as well?

@ISAQUES81 @CConceptCreator It looks better with the Oppo: look at the branches on the right or the ground in the foreground. That said, this reviewer always uses the Leica Authentic mode, which is probably a bit softer at night
