BREAKING NEWS — WHITE HOUSE
EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM (EBS) ACTIVATION SCHEDULED FOR MAY 1, 2026
WASHINGTON, D.C. — April 28, 2026
The White House and the Department of Homeland Security announced today that a nationwide test and activation of the Emergency Broadcast System (EBS) will take place on Thursday, May 1, 2026.
Officials stated that the activation will involve a full-scale nationwide blackout protocol lasting several hours, during which all regular television, radio, and cellular communications will be temporarily interrupted. The test is described as “critical for national preparedness” amid heightened concerns over infrastructure security and emergency response capabilities.
“Citizens are advised to prepare for a complete communications blackout beginning at 12:00 PM EDT on May 1st,” said a senior White House official. “During this period, the Emergency Alert System will broadcast important national security information. Americans should remain indoors, secure their homes, and have emergency supplies ready.”
The announcement comes as dark storm clouds continue to gather over the capital, with multiple lightning strikes reported across the region earlier today.
What to Expect on May 1:
All non-emergency broadcast signals will go dark
The EBS tone and presidential message will be transmitted
Cellular networks and internet services may experience widespread disruption
Power fluctuations possible in some areas
The White House urges all Americans to stay tuned to official government channels and follow instructions provided through the Emergency Broadcast System.
Further details will be released in the coming days. This is not a drill.
Stay safe. Stay informed.
Peace & love ❤️ to you all my Q family ❤️
