One of the most under-appreciated #MarchMadness buzzer beaters & upsets was 14-seed Northwestern State over 3-seed Iowa in 2006. It's the perfect version of both occurrences, with pandemonium afterwards. Not shown nearly enough!

I spoke about my book American Coach tonight to the @NotreDame Alumni Club of Houston, where I had the honor to chat with Ed Prudhomme, a freshman on Frank Leahy’s last team in 1953. Ed told me he played on the scout team & held for the kicker — Paul Hornung. What a treat for me!

I love coaches that realize this. Band, cheer, drill team, spirit squad. Every game. Rain or shine. That’s the backbone of your support. Treat them well, make them feel like part of the win, and they’ll march to hell and back (literally) for you.
