Time for a bit of Ram, methinks. A ridiculously great album, with McCartney on absolute fire, both melodically and vocally. What I love about this record is how relaxed it feels. It almost sounds like he’s just messing about, and then a moment comes along that makes you step back and realise the level he’s operating on. He’s actually showing off by making it sound so effortless, while hidden in plain sight there are some incredible things going on. Not only is every song fantastic, but there’s so much variety in style and mood, yet every leap feels completely seamless. Not many artists could go from Heart of the Country to Monkberry Moon Delight and there’s nothing jarring about it. You just go along with it because it’s McCartney doing McCartney things. One of the absolute finest Beatles solo records of them all.

@TheMetsX It’s well understood by most that teams with deep pockets have no need to do this. If they want to retain the player after 5 or 6 years they can afford to. There’s a reason these are almost always done by small market teams
