🚨 Hedera DeFi Hack 🚨 Attacker borrowed on Bonzo Finance, manipulated Supra oracles, then used SaucerSwap’s wETH and wBTC pools to move funds off Hedera and bridge them to Ethereum. Losses: +$7 million. Here’s exactly what happened: $HBAR 🧵 👇🏼

Hedera is aware of the incident affecting Bonzo Lend, an independently operated DeFi application built on Hedera. Based on the findings to date, Hedera’s consensus mechanism and core network services were not compromised, and mainnet remained operational. Bonzo’s preliminary report points to an issue involving a third-party oracle verifier.

We’re sorry to see users affected by the Bonzo Lend incident. We know this is unsettling across @Hedera. No SaucerSwap V1/V2 exploit has been identified. SaucerSwap remains operational. We’re monitoring closely and supporting the ecosystem response. Bonzo’s preliminary report attributes the incident to a third-party oracle verifier. For clarity on a question raised in the community: SaucerSwap Labs cannot pause its permissionless pools. Taking the interface offline would not prevent direct contract calls or access through other interfaces, while removing access for everyday users and liquidity providers. We’ll continue supporting the ecosystem response and keep the community informed as more is confirmed.

⚠️ALERT: $5.25 MILLION STOLEN IN APPARENT HEDERA NETWORK EXPLOIT PeckShield and Specter flagged a suspected exploit on the Hedera network, with $5.25 million in funds already bridged from Hedera Mainnet to Ethereum. The attacker reportedly funded the wallet with 1 ETH from Tornado Cash and currently holds 2,360 ETH ($4.25 million) and 15.58 WBTC ($1 million).
