@veggieequallife Good for the doctor! Colleagues are being horrid. what about the patient? Warned?Yellow card? Our population need to know how to behave whilst in hospital. NO racism, sexism, inappropriate touching, illicit drug abuse, hitting, biting, spitting. I’ve seen it all and worse!

I was on a nightshift with a reg who strongly believes in zero tolerance & refused to see a racist patient who had said nasty things to her before. She said she used to let it slide but the more senior she gets, the more she made sure to set an example and ensure that her juniors won't have to experience the same trauma. People gossip behind her back that she was difficult. But you know what, to me, she is very inspiring!

@sophielouisecc But pay people properly and recognise all jobs and workers as being of value - everyone has a role and part to play, not just the big earners! This is the culture we need to change

She’s right - why should we be relying on cheap foreign labour to do the jobs we don’t want to do - whilst we have people sitting unemployed. No one in this country is too good to do the dirty work - we must put that thought into the bin - we all have a part to play.

Today we have announced a new plan to make it easier for patients to contact their GP and end the 8am rush, with: ▶️ £240m for practices across England to embrace latest technology ▶️£645m for expansion of pharmacy services to deliver on our promise to cut waiting lists.
