This is what we need in this country. So many TD’s are and have been corrupt over the years yet they can continue to serve (generally their own purposes). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recall_el…

@Kieran_B_Sport My feed seems full of comments against the protest but when you go into the comments, a huge percentage are supportive. Various different polls I’ve seen are also very supportive.
English

@CorkGourmetGuy So as bad as these farmers have it complaining about 1.60, you’re ok with paying 2.20. Don’t you see how you should be on the side of the protesters. These are guys who spend tens of thousands to fuel their business equipment that helps bring food to your table.
English

Remember that these farmers who are protesting about the cost of diesel at the garage forecourt are actually, even now, paying about €1.60 a litre for their already heavily subsidised diesel that your taxes are funding.

@Default69202648 @GarethNotGarth Ah Jaysus, have you not seen the comments.
English

The Irish far left now trying to describe farmers and truckers who can’t afford fuel as far right.

A reminder that the Far Right screamed blue murder over nightclubs being closed during a deadly pandemic. Now the Irish Far Right and Tommy Robinson in lockstep want to lockdown the Irish nation down entirely. Reject this☘️☘️☘️

@paulieok @MacL0ve @GardaTraffic @MichealMartinTD Do you think the likes of SF, Lab or the SD’s would do anything different?
English

@MacL0ve @GardaTraffic @MichealMartinTD Ireland needs FF & FG out of government. They are destroying the country. Handing out billions of euro in cheques to every other country.
Ireland people who are working pay the governments wages remember that.
English

Irish people who are working are being held to ransom by a minority, @GardaTraffic need to start issuing FCPN's to anyone found to be blocking roads. @MichealMartinTD #fuelprotests
English

@MacL0ve @GardaTraffic @MichealMartinTD But don’t minorities rule the roost these days? Think of the lgbt… crowd, the climate change crowd, the immigration crowd. The NGO’s. Don’t you think those minorities have excessive influence and hold us to ransom in so many other fronts?
English

@WestKerrylad As a vocal supporter of the protesters, I wouldn’t support those leftist climate change muppets closing down the country. I’d get the army out at them.
English

I wonder if the very vocal supporters of the protest would support climate change protestors closing down the country.
I doubt it. #fuelprotest
English

@colinmufc2 Another one who tries to deflect from the cause and objectives of the protest. The protest is about fuel costs which our own govt are responsible for primarily. They are the gougers taking 60%+ for each litre. The protesters don’t really care about or for Trump and his ilk.
English

@VirginMediaNews That’s desperation tactics Jim. Robinson has no influence on the protesters, I’d hazard a guess most of them don’t even know who he is. Deflection deflection deflection.
English

Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan says fuel protesters are being influenced by external figures, urging them to recognise the impact of their actions.
He referenced Tommy Robinson as an example of those seeking to use the protests to advance their own agenda.

@SMacB @MaryLouMcDonald @sinnfeinireland Where’s the lie? It’s what SF do. They just jump on the latest hot potato as always. I suppose you’ll be telling me they’re a right wing party next. I’ll forgive you your insult, that’s another left wing tactic. Now jog on.
English

@davok64 @MaryLouMcDonald @sinnfeinireland You’re full of crap - it was Sinn Féin, and Sinn Féin almost alone - who were banging on about this issue in the Dáil for weeks before any protest. Why lie when the public record shows you up? 🤷🏻♂️
English

Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael need to meet with the agricultural contractors, farmers and hauliers who are out on protest due to rising fuel prices which have people under huge pressure. Sneers and threats from government need to stop.
If the government had listened to Sinn Féin weeks ago, all of this would have been avoided. Their half measure were never going to work. Prices are too high, way beyond what people can afford. We need prices to come down. The Dáil should be sitting to pass the emergency measures needed.

Time to reduce the tax burden on ordinary people, it has gone too far….

"We've a Government here that's giving away millions and millions...we should look after our own people first - then help other countries," says John Dallon, a farmer and agriculture contractor. #VMNews

@BarryAndrewsMEP I don’t think you watched the video. If you had, you’d know it was the peaceful protestor who was removing the offensive weapon. The protest has nothing to do with the war, it’s the excessive excise duties that the protestors want reduced. Stop deflecting!
English

Frustration with an illegal war is real. People are hurting.
Peaceful protest is legitimate. Blocking critical infrastructure is not.
An Garda Síochána must have our full support to restore law and order.

Protesters almost coming to blows with people trying to get to work.
English

@CWeston_Indo It’s not gouging at the forecourts, the gouging is the excise duties.

No evidence of price gouging at forecourts, CCPC finds independent.ie/business/no-ev…

@celticgibson @angiebeeb @unadunphy Only last week the EU gave permission. Poland did it, Spain did it. And you know what, if the EU were to sanction us, we should tell them where to go.
English

@angiebeeb @davok64 @unadunphy They can’t do that without EU permission. Spain tried that and were immediately sanctioned by Brussels.
English

@EvaCatDev Do you really think for one second that Trump or Netanyahu would change their plans by a few protestors in a small country being outside their embassies? We need to focus efforts on where change can be made, i.e. our own govt. Cut excise taxes and this protest ends.
English

We know the root cause of the current fuel crisis. Are they demonstrating outside these two embassies? And yes, I think the government needs to do more to help everyone. #FuelProtests
