@Beatrice_Rosen @elonmusk Yup. Token curated registries are inevitable. Problem: if the system is closed, "recruiting" capital to vote in your favor is still possible. Arbitrary tokens should be allowed, but then the issue shifts to the price oracles. The only real defense is democratization.

Problem is, community notes are/can be weaponized by groups of people to lower visibility of a dissident thought that is not incorrect, and although a note was not necessary. In France, it seems like the same fake-fact-checkers that used to harrass people about covid have now the option to write community notes, and they do it in a coordinated way. You can just tell by their methods and the community note content. ➡️So community notes are indeed useful when there is no abuse or weaponization, or else it ends up being another new form of censorship.
