A lot of these programs are secretly terrified of some of these numbers leaking because if the current roster knew how much more the new guys were getting compared to them, they’d riot. Alabama takes care of its own FIRST, and the more that becomes known, the more guys are going to want to come to Alabama, especially HS players. You don’t want to get that initial payday and then become an afterthought (when it comes to being taking care of financially) compared to others.
