@springrod @brunoborges @lucas_montano Exactly. In my consulting days I never met a client who could say exactly what they wanted. I always had to pull it out of them and point out conflicting ideas and ambiguity they couldn't see. If I had just built everything I was told we would have produced garbage.

@GergelyOrosz great article on software engineering jobs. Section 174 does dramatically affect the international jobs market as if a US company pays for software development performed outside the US, the "penalty" is not 5 years but 15. Outsourcing took a massive it.

I spent a few years at Google and the OSSF literally trying to give money to OSS maintainers, and I can confidently say funding won't fix these problems. We had more money than we could possibly give away. This is not a funding problem, sorry. These takes are wrong and simplistic and silly.
