@Omrausa@j00ny369T As I coasted in to the station and stopped at the pumps, the attendant (in NJ so they must pump the gas for you) said, "Wow! That's the quietest car I've ever seen!"
@Omrausa@j00ny369T You can turn the wheel with power off. It's just heavy with no boost.
Breaking is the scary part. It does also work but not well.
I made it a couple miles down a mountain to a gas station with engine off once in Mitsubishi Mirage. It had power NOTHING - not even windows.
@jchaase@WilliamShatner Yeah. A 23 year old daily driver is fun to keep on the road.
Once in a while I need to replace a part that hasn't been made in 15+ years... Oh joy!
But it drives so smooth and quiet. Oh joy! On the highway, the loudest noise is the wind. Almost like driving an electric.
And for the #teslarites who don’t understand 500 miles. Time is money. How long does it take to pump a tank of gas? 4-5 mins versus 30. Early last week I went up to the Yosemite area (about 300 miles.) I got up there, did my thing and got gas (5 mins) and drove back. With a Tesla. It would be drive up (maybe on one charge) charge up 20-30 mins, do my thing. Drive back, stop along the way to recharge (again probably another 20 mins…) That’s too long. 500 would be one recharge so it’s 10 mins gas versus 29-30 mins which I would consider.🤷🏼
@jchaase@WilliamShatner I think do too.
But only as long as the timing chain issue was taken care of.
A previous owner did that at about 95k. I have the receipt as the car came with complete records. Right back to the window sticker and bill of sale.
@WilliamShatner Electric is great if you can charge at home and don't need to go more than a couple hundred miles on any given day.
For long distance, straight through driving? Not so much.
I've considered getting a Tesla for local daily driving. It's hard to justify the initial cost though.
@jchaase@WilliamShatner Yes, that's a Passat dashboard.
And, yes, you can drive a Passat 456 miles on a single tank.
But only if it's a W8 with the 21 gallon tank. 😉
@jchaase@WilliamShatner You would hate road tripping with me.
I've gone from central NJ to central NC in one go. Wheels slowed for traffic/construction but never stopped even once.
456 miles in a bit over 8 hours. Then straight to the restroom.
Long drives dehydrate me so I usually don't go often.
Newsmax is calling for, and actually demanding the arrest of Barack Obama and all of his co-conspirators including Hillary Clinton who hatched the plan to overthrow our government and the will of the American people!
@Real_Ames Slavery was abolished. It was never abolished they just figured out how to enslave everyone through tax. Then convinced women to leave their families for work to collect more tax and double their slaves.
🚨BREAKING: New York voters are ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS, NYC is now spending MORE PER HOMELESS PERSON than the MEDIAN INCOME in the city:

Homeless spending has EXPLODED from $102 MILLION to OVER $368 MILLION in just SIX YEARS.
All fraud
The company behind POM juice, a juice marketed as a superfood antioxidant-rich drink, was just named California’s 2nd-largest user of paraquat — one of the most toxic herbicides still allowed in the U.S.
Over 56,000 pounds sprayed in a single year… on crops used to make this so called health drink.
Paraquat has been linked to Parkinson’s disease, cancer, and neurological damage. It drifts into nearby communities and lingers in soil for years.
More than 60 countries have already banned it.
So why is it still being used here?
Help us continue the work to get these chemicals out of our food supply.

I cite many of these studies in The Parasitic Mind and in my recently published paper in @Theory_Society. Academia is astoundingly lopsided in its political/ideological bias.
