With increasing call for cyclists to wear high-viz comes the latest data from @RSAIreland is very revealing & most concerning🤔 More than 80% of serious collisions involving cyclists in Ireland occurred on straight roads during daylight hours..!! road.cc/news/irish-cyc…

@thejournal_ie Hmm, a county council telling someone what they must wear while walking down the street? Interesting logic, i disagree. Cyclists who are road users, yes, this and helmets should be required by law.

A motion passed by Clare County Council has called for making high-vis jackets mandatory for pedestrians and cyclists. It has been criticised by the Irish Cycling Campaign, which said it would push some people back towards the car. thejournal.ie/hi-vis-jackets…

Some essential reading here particularly for local authorities, hospitals etc. who may feel tempted to shy away from decent bike parking facilities in the face of the recent Kerry Hospital faux outrage. Balance is important! Excellent article @SadhbhO 👏 irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…

I’ve £10m insurance cover, ride with helmet, high viz, F&R lights, don’t go through red lights or on pavements, fund the roads through my taxes… makes no difference to how drivers behave around me. Warning them I’m using a camera does #Cycling

Paris, a walkable city, is becoming even more walkable. Why can't your city do the same?

There is something seriously wrong with British driver culture. Living in Denmark and Nederland over the last 35 years, I must have found myself in the position of the driver or the cyclist tens of thousands of times. I can't recall one when the driver didn't give way. Not one.

@DCC_help Is @DCC_help still active on X? Not heard a confirmation about this Parkgate St cleaning need Saw a cyclist quite rightly not riding in this puncture prone section and receiving a punishment pass and a load of abuse from a white van man right opposite law courts @Feljin_J

An unintended consequence of adding bollards following the collision involving a @Luas and a car entering the tram lane to overtake a bus at this bus stop is that it makes Naas Road even more hostile to anyone brave enough to cycle
