Good news, DC! Outdoor pool season has officially begun. ‌ 17 outdoor pools and 35 spray parks are open today through Monday 10AM-6PM. ‌ While rain is in the forecast, pools will open as long as conditions remain safe for lifeguards to monitor and as long as there is no lightning.

We just reinstated a limited juvenile curfew under a new emergency order in Washington, DC. Here's how that impacts residents: 1.⁠ ⁠Effective tonight, 5/22, all youth under the age of 18 are subject to a 11PM citywide curfew. 2.⁠ ⁠Designated zones will be subject to an 8PM curfew as determined by the Chief of Police. 3.⁠ ⁠The curfew will extend through 6/6. This order is an emergency tool that will address the next 15 days to preserve safety and protect peace in our community.

It’s amazing that DC ranks #1 for city parks and congrats to @DCDPR, but you wouldn’t necessarily know it in #ColumbiaHeightsDC - our Civic Plaza & 14/Girard St Park are neglected, in need of cleaning/refurbishment, & haven’t gotten meaningful investment for 20+ years (1/2)
