The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the District of Columbia until 9:30 PM tonight, July 28. Heavy rain may produce flash flooding. NEVER travel through flooded roads or trails.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for the District of Columbia until 10:00 PM tonight (July 28). A Tornado Watch means that tornadoes are possible in the area. Strong winds may cause downed trees or branches, localized power outages, and damage to homes and buildings. BEFORE A TORNADO: - Secure loose outdoor objects like trash cans, outdoor furniture, and other items that could become dangerous flying debris during a tornado. - Charge your phone and other communication, medical, or assistive devices in case of a power outage. - Identify a safe space to shelter if a Tornado Warning is issued. DURING A TORNADO: - Go to the nearest sturdy building. If you're not near a building, enter the nearest Metro station. - Move to an interior room on the lowest floor if possible. 💦 #DGSDelivers— After being offline for much-needed upgrades, we celebrated the Rosedale Outdoor Pool reopening for the #Ward7 community! This $6.8M in pool renovations through @MayorBowser’s investment in rec centers, expands the facility by 1,400+ sqft & with 6 swim lanes!🏊🏾‍♀️

On Thursday 7/23/26, the newest publicly accessible Automated External Defibrillator (AED) was installed at the @DCDPR Ridge Rd Community Center. This life-saving device is critical for someone in cardiac arrest Thank you @DCDPR @DCDGS, Every Second Counts, and @ZOLLPublicSfty
