News: In a filing in federal court, the government confirms our reporting that it plans to begin deferred maintenance on East Potomac today, which would cause it to shut down.
This is from their opposition to an emergency stay
Doesn't give exactly what maintenance it will be but says they believe the "parking lot, retaining wall, signage, exterior of the Club House, interior of the Club House, flower beds, light poles, cart paths, maintenance compound, Driving Range Building, Driving Range, Golf Course Barn, Starter Building, and trees in the parking lot were all in poor or critical condition."

That is 100% a lie. Over washington DC there are corridors assigned to every type of craft. They have to follow strict altitudes, instructions, and plans. Even government flights can not change without strict authorization from flight control, for very specific reasons. A pilot can not just buzz a crowd, and the White House can not just tell them to do it.
There is a 15 mile inner ring, and a 30 mile outer ring. Anything in the 15 mile ring is under extreme watch for any changes. Even requests that are turned down are logged, investigated, and reported.
Now if you know where the corridor is, and you put a protest under it, and record it so you can complain about it, that is Libel, Subversion, and Sedition.
You may want to think about taking your post down, cause they are not playing around with that stuff anymore. Everyone is brave until the cuffs are on, then they just cry about it being a set up, or not fair.

This is what I’ve been hearing about the proposed Trump/Fazio course at East Potomac, now beginning to be confirmed by @RickMaese. Because of the (likely unrealistic) wish to bring a major championship to the facility, the course would have to be massive. This would probably mean cutting the number of holes at East Potomac in half and eliminating many of the popular non-golf areas on the island (roads, walking paths, picnic areas).

I haven’t been able to watch much of Doral this week. I hear people saying the course isn’t great. What is the issue with the course? It’s definitely not too easy bc outside of Cam there is no one double digit under par after 3 rounds. This is normally what the degen crowd wants. Why do people dislike it other than political reasons? Need some feedback.

The huge machines, concrete bases, and new roads tear up beautiful farmland and woods, turning peaceful areas into ugly industrial zones that ruin the land for good. Nature is getting slaughtered because these turbines kill hundreds of thousands to over a million birds every year in the U.S. like the American bald eagle. Bats get hit even harder, with tens or hundreds of thousands dying. The roads and spinning blades wreck animal homes and scare everything away. This bloodbath is total hypocrisy from the “save the Earth” crowd. Basically, it’s a massive scam that helps cronies get rich while hurting people, animals, and the land. It’s all a grift Elizabeth.

@ByEricPratt My parents in MD are avid fans of Orioles and Nationals. They pay a ton for Fios and have gotten MLB TV and MASN to watch all the games. This year, they all of a sudden have to pay $100 extra to watch the Nationals, plus use an app they can only get on one TV in the house.

As far as I could tell, Rory did it all in the run-up to the Masters. He made himself available for documentaries, was at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and the Drive Chip and Putt, played with his father at AN, played in the Par Three and did every interview and handled them all with class.
And then took us all on another incredible ride and afterwards, gave an emotional and beautiful speech.
There is no better stage than Augusta National and there is no better theatre than Rory.
I’m not sure golf has ever had a more sustained run of great players winning majors, with the average world rank of the last 56 major winners better than 15th in the world.
Looking forward to the rest of the major season.
